Leader In Me
Habit 4: Think Win-Win. In this habit, emphasis is on doing what is good for all. It provides a wonderful opportunity to have students work together and practice the skill of compromise.
Here are some ideas for home practice:
- Chores: When your child helps the household by doing chores, it is a win-win for the whole family!
- Family fun time: Taking some time to do a fun activity as a family is a great win-win. Have the whole family decide what they would like to do for fun!
- Sports and team activities: If possible, having children participate in outside activities and sports can help develop team skills. Make sure to check out the library to see what neat activities they are offering for the month!
- Meal planning: Have your child help plan and prepare the meals for the week. Have them consider what everyone’s favorites might be to decide which ones are on the menu! Yum!
- Car D.J.: have your child help select what songs are played in the car by asking all riders what their listening preferences are and creating a playlist for all!

Clinic News
Now that the weather is getting colder, we will be seeing more hats and scarves being worn. This is the perfect time to remind your children to never share these items. Also please visit Sawnee’s website under student services/school nurse for a reminder of Forsyth County’s lice guidelines. Our website also includes very important information on common myths about lice and great tips for prevention and treatment.
Nurse Robyn is in need of boys pants size 5-8. Elastic waist sweat pants or athletic pants work the best. Nurse Sheila is in need of boys and girls elastic waist pants sizes 8-14 and NEW underwear. Thank you.

Grateful & Thankful
Holiday Decorating - We'd like to give a BIG Sawnee shout out to Rebecca Frank who graciously dedicated two days of her time to decorating the Christmas trees in both buildings! The trees are beautiful!
Old Ornaments - After Christmas, if you decide to get rid of any ornaments we could really use them at Sawnee to decorate our trees for next year. Although our tress are beautiful they are a little sparse.
Sawnee PTO
Our other awesome VP of Education is Mrs. Erin Amott! Between her and her husband she has 29 nieces and nephews. NO that is not a typo. 29 nieces and nephews!! Could you imagine the holidays? She has 3 children with a 4th on the way so in her spare time she thought she should join the PTO board. She is a wiz at math and we’re taking bets that she is aiming for Melissa’s position next year ;) If you see her in the halls, give her a hug. She must deal with all of us and 4 little ones.
Sawnee PTO Officers:
