Nau mai, haere mai

A very warm welcome to tamariki and their families who have started at Paparangi School this week. Welcome to our friendly school, Skylar Herath Muhandiramge in Rākau Nui.

Thanks to our parent helpers this term who have helped with Sports teams, Road Patrol, Enviro Day and in our classes as well. A special thanks to the Home and School Committee who have ran successful fundraisers this term. We look forward to the friendship seat arriving soon.

I wish all our staff, students and their families a fun and happy holiday. Keep safe and we'll see you all back at school on Monday 26 July for another action packed term full of learning adventures!

Thank you!

Thanks for supporting the Bake Sale on Tuesday run by Rākau Nui students. The money raised (over $800!) is going towards the Year 6 day out, Year 6 graduation and STEAM resources. What a great example of our values in action!

  • GRIT - waiting your turn in line to be served
  • RESPECT - serving other students using good manners
  • OTHERS - volunteering to run the bake stall during morning tea and lunch time
  • WONDER - celebrating all the different contributions that were donated from families

Team Pounamu's Assembly

Tino pai to the wonderful assembly presenters who ran yesterday's assembly. Well done Team Pounamu, we enjoyed your items. It was great to see many Adventurous Learners being recognised for all their good choices - we're very proud of you! The audience was entertained with Matariki songs and stories, descriptive writing, the science of sound and music and more songs too. Well done Room 3 for singing your song with sign language! Thanks to the parents who came along to see learning in action. I hoped you enjoyed the performance as much as we all did.

NZ Playhouse - Rumpelstiltskin

We are looking forward to having NZ Playhouse come to the school at the end of the first week next term to perform their Rumpelstiltskin play for the whole school. The tamariki thoroughly enjoy these shows, which allow us to bring the experience of the theatre to the children.

Rumpelstiltskin performs on Friday 30 July. The cost per student is $6.00 per person. Please pay via Kindo, internet banking or Eft-Pos at the office.
