Harrison Happenings
October 6-10
This week in room 300...
Happy Monday! We are finally almost done with our alphabet... YAY!! This week we will be learning letters U-X. Please continue to review letter flashcards at home if your child is not remembering all of the letters. We are also continuing to learn 2-D shapes and positions. We have fun activities planned to review shapes on Friday! Our lightning words are no, is, can. Please complete one lightning word activity per day and practice those flashcards! :) Students will also be pulled out this week for a state test. The test takes about 20 minutes per child, and you should have received a note about this last week. It is nothing to be concerned about... just some data needed by the state department of education!
Conferences
Today you will receive a sheet about scheduling your conference. Conferences will start October 23rd and continue until October 31st. You must attend a conference in order to get your child's report card. Please give me many options of times that work for you on the sheet (this will all be explained on the conference sheet). If you are able to give varying times (some afternoon, morning, and night), that will help me a lot as I try to schedule 29 conferences. The conferences will only last about 10 minutes each, but it is very important that at least one parent/guardian attend! Please send the conference sheet back as soon as possible.
Field Trip to Callaham Farms on October 16th
We still have many students who have not turned in their field trip forms or money. Please send those things in by this Friday, October 10th. Your child will not be able to attend the field trip until both of those things are turned in. It is $9 per adult/child to attend. If you need another form, please write us a note and let us know. We hope that everyone is able to go! It is going to be a lot of fun! :)
Halloween Party
Our wonderful room moms are throwing a Halloween party for our class on Thursday, October 30th. Please send in $2 for your child to participate in this party. $1 for the snack and $1 for the craft. Thanks so much!
