FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Father Doyle Families,
There are just thirteen days before the start of school for our K-8 students! I am sure that for many families this comes with a mix of emotions. While many are excited to return to school, there is also a certain melancholy that comes with the close of summer. This is understandable, and I pray that your summer months have been filled with family, friends, and relaxation.
Whether you're ecstatic or melancholic over the start of the school year, I want to assure you that, for the past two months, school administration and staff have been working tirelessly to prepare for an exceptional year. This includes exploring new textbook series, making the transition to a new Student Information System, and developing appropriate plans to ensure the safety of our entire school community.
To that end, Father Doyle will be announcing our initial mask policy for the 2021-2022 school year on Monday, August 16th. We will host a Town Hall Meeting for families Monday evening at 6:00pm to discuss the policy and answer any questions or concerns you may have. You can find the invitation below. Please note that you do not need to attend the Town Hall Meeting to learn about the mask policy. It will also be sent to families in digital form, and a recording of the Town Hall Meeting will also be made available for families. Lastly, you can always email or call the school with questions, concerns, etc.
You are invited to a Zoom webinar.
When: Aug 16, 2021 06:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)
Topic: Mask Policy Review

Extended Day - Morning and Afternoon Care 2021-2022
We are excited to announce new formats for extended day registration and billing as we work to streamline the process for parents and families. The school currently offers Morning Care from 7:00am-7:40am and Afternoon Care from 2:30pm-5:30pm.
For the upcoming 2021-2022 school year, parents will register for morning and afternoon care on a monthly basis using a web form in the FACTS Family Portal. Good news - no more paper calendars! Please note that you will only be billed for the days your child attends.
For preparation purposes, we do ask that if you are planning to utilize extended day at any time during the year, you complete the form here. This form will be utilized by staff for planning purposes only. It is not a formal registration, and you are not locked into the days selected in the form.
In addition, while families may still choose to be billed using our "drop-in" rate each month, we are now also offering three different flat-rate plans for families. These plans provide families with consistent payment options and yearly cost savings. You can read more about these plans, as well as our drop-in rates and billing options in the flyer here. The flyer includes a link to register for the flat-rate plan of your choosing, if so desired.
FACTS Family Portal Login and Training Sessions
You should have received an email from the school prompting you to create a login for your Family Portal. The email is titled "Introducing the FACTS Family Portal - Important Login Information Enclosed!"
If you have not already done so, you should create your FACTS Family Portal Login by following the instructions here.
In addition, in order to ensure our families are comfortable using the platform, we continue to host family training sessions, including the two sessions below:
- Monday, August 16th, 4:00pm - 6-8 Families
- Thursday, August 19th, 7:00pm - 6-8 Families
Click on the date you wish to attend to RSVP. Please note that pre-registration is required, as Zoom links will only be sent to registered families.
Lastly, the school office remains open from 8am-1pm, Monday-Friday (and by appointment outside of these hours) throughout the summer. If you need anything or have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and a blessed week ahead!
Sincerely,
Mr. Peloquin

Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence
How can you help? Save can tabs and send them in to Mr. Godin’s room.
Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This provides new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
