BELA Preschool & DFC End of Year Dates to Remember

May 26th - Last day of preschool for Part & All Day BELA

May 27th - Last day of school for K-12 DCSD students (Early Release at 11:30am/No Lunch will be served.)

May 28th - NO SCHOOL/DFC Offices Closed

May 31st - Memorial Day - DFC/DCSD Offices Closed

June 10th - Last day for preschool for ECDY BELA students

June 14th - DFC Limited Office Hours*


*Please email dfc@deltaschools.com to get a message to DFC Administration throughout the summer. Office Staff will return the week of July 26th for regular office hours. CCR Staff is available by appointment only all summer.

Calling All Out-Lying Entering Kindergartners!

Is your child headed to Kindergarten in the fall of 2021? Will your child attend Cedaredge, Hotchkiss or Paonia Elementary School? Would you like to win a backpack full of school supplies for your Kindergartner?


If you answered "YES" to these questions, then this is the place for you! Complete the following survey to be entered in to win a backpack full of common Kindergarten supplies for your child to use this coming fall. BELA Preschool & Delta County Kindergarten Registration Information

Registration for the 2021-2022 School Year for both BELA Preschool & Kindergarten placement will be open until June 11, 2021. Any registrations received after this date will be processed in August 2021. Backpack Box Inventory

Delta Family Center Accountability

This team is comprised of DFC Staff, Community Partners, Parents, Business Leaders, and School District Personnel. This team serves a variety of purposes to ensure quality services to the families of Delta County. In the weeks to come, this section will be highlighting the many roles our DFC Accountability Team serves. We Are Looking For Parent Volunteers!!

If you are a parent or caregiver of a Head Start student, we have openings on our Parent-led Board! Please see Angela Fedler or your child's teacher to let us know you might interested in being a voice for your child's education. Meetings are held virtually monthly. We would welcome your input and participation!

Our BELA classroom teachers are hard at work putting together weekly newsletters for their families. They are working on emailing or printing these for you to have each week.

Backpack Program Exchange Dates!


The Backpack Program is Coming Your Way! Each BELA class should receive a PowerAnnouncer as to your date and time for FINAL INVENTORY TIME. Families should have also hear from our wonderful Backpack Ladies with details about their exchange during their week.


Outlying Delta County Families: When it is your exchange week, the Backpack Ladies will be in our big white van from 11-1pm in partnership with each community's elementary school.



Boxes will be due in for End of Year Inventory for ALL Outlying Areas on May 3rd!


If you are NEW to the Backpack Program, please follow the link below to fill out a short form and watch a short required "Box Talk" prior to picking your first Backpack Box.

The Delta Family Center has been serving families since 1992 and is comprised of: The Backpack Program, The Backpack Early Learning Academy (BELA Preschool), and The Family Resource Center.
