How are these clouds defined?
Many people describe these clouds as smooth pouch-like clouds that look like bumps in the sky. One really wierd part about these clouds is that they never drop precipitation. These clouds also form after an anvil cloud.
What causes these cloud formations?
These clouds usually form near a anvil cloud or after a severe thunderstorm. They are mostly caused by the warm moist updraft which floats out to cause mammatus clouds. These are a very rare type of cloud.
