Parent e-News
Jonathan Alder High School
September 16, 2016
Next week will mark the fifth week of the first quarter. It is hard to believe how quickly the days pass. Please take some time next week to review ProgressBook or Canvas for a current update on the progress of your son or daughter. Assignments and grades are typically updated weekly (if not more so). If there is an area of concern, I would encourage you to communicate directly with that teacher to get specific details. Teachers will also make contact by email or phone if they have specific concerns. Our ability to keep open lines of communication is key to our students learning success.
As always, thank you for your help and support! Have a wonderful weekend!

Saturday, Oct. 1 (8:00-11:00pm): Homecoming Dance @ Jonathan Alder High School
The Homecoming Dance is a great evening of fun for all students. We invite all students that would like to attend to do so. While there are many students that come with a date, we also have many others that come in groups. Please know that all students are welcome if they would like to take part.
Tickets cost $10.00/student. In order to receive a ticket, students must complete the Homecoming Guidelines form signed by a parent. If a student is bringing a guest from another school, they must also complete a guest form. This must be signed by the guest school's administrator. Please do not leave this until the last minute. If you son or daughter is bringing a guest, encourage them to pick up a form soon. Both forms can be picked up in the main office or from Mrs. Russell.
Tickets will be sold beginning Monday, Sept. 26 thru Friday, Sept. 30. They will NOT be sold at the door the night of the dance.
This sale is not a fundraiser it is simply to help create participation for the "Black Out." We encourage the entire community to partcipate.

Change of Address
Events on District Website and OHSAA
OHSAA has also changed the service they use to schedule and share events. This service is called ArbiterLive. Arbiter is being used by all athletic programs affiliated with OHSAA. As with all technology transitions, there have been some bugs. ArbiterLive is much more aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly compared to myOHSAA but some of the schedules in ArbiterLive have been incomplete (i.e Football). We are doing our best to get all Fr/JV/Var athletic events on the district calendar. Please contact the main office if you need confirmation on an event.
