Engage-Connect-Grow
We are approaching the finish line of another school year in just one week. Although we continued to work through the challenges of COVID this school year, I am proud of the hard work and dedication of our students and staff and the support of our families. Our mission is Engage.Connect.Grow and our vision is To Create a Community of Engaged, Connected, and Growing Learners. We focused on engaging students in rigorous tier 1 instruction, made connections and formed relationships, and grew our students through enrichment and interventions.
Below you will see screenshots of our iReady diagnostic growth from the fall to the spring for grades K-5. This data is just one testament of the amount of growth that our students have shown this year. Our median percent progress toward typical growth in reading is 138% and math is 128%. You will receive the spring diagnostic reports for your child in the coming days. Here is a link explaining the diagnostic report.
Our field day is tomorrow and I know the students are very excited. I want to thank our PE teacher, Jana Paulk, and our PE instructional para, Chuck McMahan, for all of their hard work to organize this wonderful event. Also, thanks to all of our parents who have signed up to volunteer. We could not do this event without your help.
With Gratitude,
Camille Christopher

Virtual Creative Days in June and July
In June and July, the FCS Instructional Technology Department will be hosting four virtual creativity days for students. During these sessions, students will engage in creative thinking as they design graphics, videos, and web pages using Adobe Creative Cloud Express. Each day will consist of three sessions centered around a daily theme. Students may choose to participate in any or all the sessions on a given day. Separate sessions will be held for elementary students and secondary students in middle school and high school. Students will participate in these sessions through Microsoft Teams. Links to participate in the Teams meetings will be sent to participants after they register. Visit https://adobe.ly/3ylBbq8 for additional details and to register.
