The Collegiate Connection
October 31, 2021
I am writing to ask for ~15 minutes of your time to complete an online survey that will help us improve your child’s school. We have asked YouthTruth– a nonprofit organization that supports hundreds of schools and districts across the county – to conduct an anonymous survey on our behalf.
Please take the survey before it closes at midnight on November 19 by clicking this link:
Please note:
· The survey needs to be completed in one sitting.
· We ask that one member of each household fill out the survey.
· If you have more than one child who attends the same school, you may respond to the survey multiple times - one time per child.
· If you write any comments, please do not include your name or anything else that might identify you. Your responses are anonymous, and they will be combined with the responses of other parents and guardians before being shared back with school and district leadership.
We sincerely thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. Your response is incredibly valuable to us.

A Message from Dr. Lewis
It’s a great day to be a Longhorn! We have a lot of great things going on at Collegiate Prep.
First I would like to thank Counselor Smith for making Red Ribbon Week a success for our scholars. Her hard work is definitely appreciated and has not gone unnoticed. Our scholars completed their DCCA #3 this week at Prep. Many parents have asked what we do when a scholar is struggling on an individual concept. I am a firm believer in data driven decisions, and using data and best practices from research to drive instruction. During PLCs the teachers look over the data from DCCAs and classroom assessments to determine small group instruction and activities for Longhorn time.
Teachers contact parents any time a scholar scores below a 70 on an individual assignment. This is to ensure the parent is aware and if there is additional support you can provide at home we let you know.
This week we will celebrate National Authors Day by having a few scholar authors visit classrooms. We also will celebrate National Jersey Day on Friday and scholars can wear their jersey.
I look forward to continuing my partnership with our parents and hope you all have a successful week.
