PBS Focus of the Week -

This week our PBS instruction is focused on Early Knights and Charger Time. Please take time to review expectations for the gym and cafeteria in the morning, as well as what is expected during Charger Time.

Remember to use the lessons your team developed to support student behavioral needs based on data. Track how this impacts student choices, recognizing the positive and bringing students back for additional modeling practice and reteaching when they need it.

Also, be on the look out for teachable moments in your classroom to reinforce or reteach expectations as needed. Our students are most often very good at showing us what they need - we just need to pay attention and provide it!

Nuts and Bolts

*Our Charger Dash is tomorrow morning at 8:00 at the Thomas Jefferson track. Come out to support our PTO, students and your colleagues!

*Check your website. Is it up to date? Make sure your information and schedule reflect what is happening for your learners. We want families to be able to learn more about us by using our website.

*Grade cards must be completed by 4:00 on Tuesday, October 20th so they can printed, reviewed for edits, and ready to hand out at conferences next Thursday. Thank you for making sure you have taken care of things in a timely manner.

*We have Culver's Scoopie Night on Wednesday, November 4th from 5 - 9 p.m. We need some staff volunteers that would be willing to come "hang out" and help out during these times. We are particularly in need of help from 7:00 - 9:00 that evening. Use the link below to sign up!

*If you want a copy of SWIS data for conferences, please let me know who you need data for and on which day the conference is scheduled. I will try to print out SWIS data the day of conferences so we have the most up-to-date information to share with families.

*Have a parent conference you would like me to attend? If you have a conference for which you want me present (or just available in the area) please let me know who the conference is for, date and time so I can work on my schedule.

Interactive Modeling

Here is an example of interactive coaching from the Responsive Classroom site (responsiveclassroom.org). Take a look to see how this practice can support your students. Are you using all the steps to support students having a full understanding of what is expected?

Schoolnet

Interested in learning more about Schoolnet, a district data warehouse that provides access to curriculum, assessment, other student data? The district's goal is for all curriculum to be accessed through SchoolNet by second semester. Schoolnet will also serve as a place for teachers to access longitudinal data on the students currently on their roster. Teachers will need to know how to access both curriculum and student data in Schoolnet. This training will be different than other Schoolnet training provided up to this point.

October 20, October 27 or October 28 from 4:15 - 5:15 at Dix Road.
