I Want To Talk To All My Parents!
From the desk of Mr. C
Parents,
Obviously, I cannot talk to ALL of you every week. That would not be realistic! But it is important that I communicate with you about your young learners and the awesome Science Stuff we will be doing! Listed below are 3 tools that I will be using to interact with you and our students outside of class. You, as the parent, will always have an active role in knowing what is going on. Please use these tools as an easy and convenient way to stay "hip" with what we are doing! Please feel free to e-mail, call, or set up a conference if you feel it is necessary in addition to!

Edmodo!
You will almost instantly recognize this when you log-on! It is structure very similar to the ever popular Facebook. This is a tool that I can use to communicate with you and our students. Students will be able to log on and review assignments, complete quizzes, or get additional materials that I post! I have access to all student postings and so will you! Each parent will be able to log-on (attached to their child's individual Edmodo account) and can see what is happening in our class. You may also use this to communicate with me as well!
Prezi!
During our time researching the wonderful world of science, our students will be presenting information to their peers in many forms. One of which are Powerpoint presentations. This is a great tool for students to complete their projects individually or as a group. It is an online presentation tool that helps learners develop their technical savvy by providing an easy way to make beautiful presentations. Collaboratively speaking, students can work as a group from the comfort of your home and do their individual part by logging in!

This is a great mobile APP that I want all my learners to download. I always consider myself a scientist first and foremost, and a teacher second. I want our students to really look at the world in a scientific way! I want our students to look at everything they see and be amazed at the wonder this world has to offer! I encourage them to take pictures of any and everything they find fascinating and to share them with our class and promote critical thinking about the world around them!
