Town of Sunnyvale - March 19, 2021
Trash-Off planned for March 27
The Town of Sunnyvale has partnered with Republic Services and United Electronic Recycling (UER) for the 2021 Trash-Off. This is a free event for the community, with the exception of electronic recycling fees. The Trash-Off will be held at Jobson Park - 335 Jobson Rd. - from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 27.
The following will be provided:
- Bulk Waste (Free!) - exceptions are listed in the flyer below.
- Electronic Recycling - some electronics have fees associated with them; see below.
- Document Shredding (Free!) - there is a limit of four boxes per vehicle.
If you have any additional questions about what may/may not be accepted at the Trash-Off, please do not hesitate to reach out to Public Relations Coordinator Erica Madden or Parks Director John Douthit. They are happy to reach out to Republic Services and/or UER on your behalf.
Town, Chamber, and ISD partner for Spring event
The Town of Sunnyvale has partnered with Sunnyvale ISD and the Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce to provide a safe, fun, and free Spring event - a Drive Thru Eggstravaganza! This event will be similar to the Drive Thru Trunk or Treat but with a Spring theme.
The Eggstravaganza will be held on Friday, April 2, from 4 - 6 p.m. on Raider Drive. Traffic will enter from Collins Road onto Raider Drive, turn left on Hounsel Lane and exit back out on Collins Road.
Sunnyvale ISD will provide a bag to collect your candy and eggs. Additionally, Robert the Rabbit will be on site for socially distanced pictures! For everyone's safety, please do not exit your vehicle. This is a drive thru event.
Harris Addition Construction
Construction for Phase I of the Harris Addition Sewer and Rehabilitation Project is scheduled to begin at the beginning of April.
Vaccine assistance provided by Library
As a reminder, the Doris Padgett Public Library is offering assistance to those who need help registering for the COVID-19 vaccination. Please see the flyer below for additional information. Give them a call - (972) 226-4491 - or stop by and visit!
Vaccine eligibility expanded
- Texans age 50 and older (Phase 1C) are now eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
- School and licensed childcare personnel are also eligible to be vaccinated. Additional information for educators and school staff is available in the Texas Education Agency (TEA) K-12 COVID-19 Vaccine FAQ.
