What was The Act ?

An act by the parliament of Great Britain on March 22, 1765 that imposed a direct tax on the colonies that required that most documents be produced on stamped paper produced in England. This was a tax that was required to be payed in English currency and not in colonial currency.

The Reaction of The Colonial People

The funds were used to fund British soldiers when they successfully defended against the french and indians in the seven year war. The people responded by saying they defended themselves and that they no longer had any use for these soldiers. Eventually leading to the discarding of this act
