A Note From The Principal
Greetings Parents and Scholars,
Here at George and Veronica Phalen Leadership Academy children are the priority, change is the reality and collaboration is the strategy. These words by Judith Billings have been echoed n many educational settings and are at the core of our PLA values. This week we had the pleasure of welcoming back our priority....our scholars!
Parents it was awesome seeing your faces and having an opportunity to greet you during the arrival and dismissal of your scholar. Our team changed the environment to meet the guidelines established by the CDC. However, you have met the challenge graciously and helped prepare your scholar for the task ahead. Thank you for encouraging them daily.
In the spirit of collaboration we will continue to update you about things that are happening on campus. This week we received a number of parent request to return to campus for the in person learning. We diligently worked on completing the task and notifying you. You should have received a phone call or email with this update.
Thank you again for your support!
Scholars First,
Dr. Sue Starr
NWEA Testing
Please remember the tips below on how to help prepare your scholar for NWEA:
- Get plenty of rest the night before your scholar's assessment.
- Eat a well balanced breakfast the day of the assessment.
- If testing in person, please make sure your scholar remembers to bring their charged device to school.
- If testing remotely, please do not assist your scholar or have someone take the assessment for them. Doing this will result in inaccurate data that may result in a voided assessment and the need to retest your scholar.
Arrival/Dismissal
Arrival time is from 7:45am to 8:15am. Dismissal is from 3:00pm to 3:30pm. Please make sure you are on time to drop off and pick up your scholar.
