School Social Work: Resources & Assistance
What is a School Social Worker?
As School Social Workers, our primary responsibility is to promote the academic and social/emotional development of all students. We are also here to provide assistance and support to the students, staff, and families of CES. We meet with students individually and in small groups, conduct classroom lessons, and consult with community organizations to benefit and meet the needs of all CES students.
Please take a moment to look through the community assistance information presented on this page! This is just a brief look at what resources are available in the community. Should you need assistance with something that is not listed below, please contact your appropriate grade level social worker at any time.

Mackenzie Kleman, LCSW - Grades k ,4, & 5
My Mackenzie Kleman, and I am the School Social Worker here at CES for Grades K, 4 & 5. This is my 6th year as a CES Tiger, and I am very happy to be working alongside Sam to best support our students and families this school year. I absolutely LOVE my job. Sam and I take a team approach in regards to our work together so we can collaborate and best support our students. I believe in open communication with families so that we can all work together to see our students grow and succeed.
I strongly believe that relationships create the foundation for success in our students. I strive to create connections with both students and families in an effort to meet the needs of the whole child. I look forward to continuing to serve our CES family this school year! ๐ If you need anything, please reach out by phone or email -- mkleman@ccs.k12.in.us.
Best,
Mackenzie Kleman

Carmel Elementary Assistance Form
Here at Carmel Elementary, we understand that when students and families are in need of assistance, it becomes difficult to focus on academic achievement. When needs are met, students are better able to focus on education and learning. Therefore, we are always happy to assist our students and their families with various needs that may arise throughout the school year - especially during these trying and uncertain times. We are fortunate to have the resources of the Carmel Clay community at our fingertips when such needs arise.
Completing this form alerts us to your current needs, which allows us to provide more direct assistance as we are able. Items we can help with may include (but are not limited to):
- Non-perishable food items for the weekend
- Seasonally appropriate clothing and toiletries
- Holiday Assistance (seasonal)
- And more!
Please know that all of your information will remain confidential. If interested in any of these topics, please click the button below and fill out the corresponding form. Jaimie or Mackenzie will then be in contact with you as soon as possible!
