Down Syndrome
Down syndrome is a set of physical and metal traits caused by a gene problem that happens before birth. It is a lifelong condition.
More About Down Syndrome
A normal human has 23 pairs of chromosomes, but a person with down syndrome has a pair of 21 chromosomes. It is a condition in which extra genetic material causes delay in the way the child is born.
Treatment
There is no internal treatment for Down Syndrome but there is speech therapy and special education. Though down syndrome can't be prevented, it can be detected before the child is born.
The Symptoms
Some symptoms of Down Syndrome is small feet and hands, poor muscle tone, short neck, white spots on the iris of the eye. They are often short and have small ears.
Is It More Common For Females or Males To Get Down Syndrome
Males have seem to have a more common change to get down syndrome. Its also seen more frequently in Hispanics. But if a female over the age of 35 has a kid its a bigger chance of the child to have down syndrome.
Effects on a persons life
This has no effects but to make everyday tasks harder and difficult for people suffering with down syndrome.
