Little Spartans News
November 2022
A Note From the Director:
This school year is going quickly! We are already into the holiday season, which means more fun learning experiences for our Little Spartans. Be sure to follow Little Spartans Preschool and Fayette County Schools Head Start on Facebook for daily photos! Teachers also share information and pictures on what is happening in their classrooms on ClassDojo!
Recess/Outdoor Learning
Please be sure to send students with a jacket/coat. We will be going outside for recess and/or outdoor learning as long as the temperature is above freezing. Over Fall Break new playground equipment was installed for students to explore.
Book Blast
LSP is partnering with Fayette Central Elementary School on an event called Book Blast. This is a great way to get books in the hands of kids for FREE! Treasure Maps will go home with students on Monday, October 31st. Families can enter ten names and their student will earn prizes and possibly free books. CLICK HERE to get started. Book Blast is open now until November 18th.
Veterans Day
Teachers are putting together several activities for Veterans Day! Be sure to check your child's weekly teacher newsletter to find out what your child is doing to recognize Veterans.
Head Start- Parent Meeting
Head Start classrooms will have parent meetings on Tuesday, November 15th @6:00-7:00p.m. The focus will be on Nutrition.
T-Shirt Fundraiser
Students will be selling LSP t-shirts from November 15th to November 30th. Profits from the t-shirts will be donated to the Connersville Police Department K-9 Unit. More information will be coming home with students soon.
Dress-up Days
On Monday, October 31st, students may wear their Halloween Costumes or dress as a book character. Please no face paint, scary costumes, or fake weapons. On Monday, November 21st students will be asked to wear all one color, and then on Tuesday, November 22nd pajamas.
Sick Student Procedures
Procedures for sick students can be found later in the newsletter. A rule of thumb to follow is 'students must be free of fever/diarrhea/vomiting for 24 hours (without medication) before returning to school.'
Bookmobile
This year we have partnered with the Fayette County Public Library. The bookmobile will not be visiting LSP this month due to Veterans' Day and Thanksgiving! The bookmobile will be back at LSP on December 2nd. In January, the Bookmobile will come to LSP two times a month on Thursdays. This is a great way for families to utilize community resources!
Safety, Safety, Safety
Don't be alarmed if you notice police presence at LSP! The Connersville Police Department and the Fayette County Sherriff's Department regularly visit to make sure our students and staff are safe. If there ever is an emergency, families will be notified via Powerschool Messenger, ClassDojo, and Social Media (Facebook/Twitter). If your phone number changes for any reason, please notify the office so we can update our system!
