Good Morning Sanger High School
Welcome Back Team...
Congratulations to everyone for another successful week. If you haven't had a chance to make it to our fall production, then I highly encourage you to do so. Congratulations to Mr. Jackson, Mrs. Perkins and the cast and crew of Chemical Imbalance for a wonderful performance Saturday. I had an opportunity to see everyone is action and it was a true delight.
On the academic side...congratulations to Mrs. Reynolds and the UIL Academic Team. They ventured down the road to Aubrey to compete in the Aubrey Holiday Classic Invitational Meet. Rebecca Dellinges and Austin Terry competed together in 3 rounds of CX debate, and they won 2 out of the 3 rounds. This is a great accomplishment for them because it was Austin's first time to compete, and they did an awesome job as a team.
Patrick Blount and Kalli Smith competed in three rounds of Persuasive Speaking, and Roberto Campos competed in three rounds of Informational Speaking. Unfortunately, they didn't advanced to the final round, but they gained a lot of insight to improve their performance for the next meet.
Again, great job this week Sanger High School!!!

Instructional Practices
S.M.A.R.T. Goals
S=Specific (Specific goals have a much better chance of being reached because they clearly define what is trying to be accomplished.)
M=Measurable (A measurable goal should include a plan with targets and milestones that you can use to make sure you are moving in the right direction.)
A=Attainable (An attainable goal should be realistic and include a plan that breaks your overall goal down into smaller, manageable action steps that use the time and resources available to you within the timeline you have set.)
R=Relevant (Choose a goal that matters.)
T=Timely (A time-based goal is limited by a defined period of time and includes a specific timeline for each step of the process.)
Guiding Question (Learning Target)
Please continue to post your guiding question regularly in your classroom. The purpose of the guiding question is to establish what the learning target is for the daily lesson. This will help student focus on the learning outcome as he/she begins to engage is the learning process.
As you know, in Texas we are driven by the TEKS (i.e.-Standards) and our Learning Targets are known as Student Expectation (SEs).
Specific Feedback
Along with formative assessment, providing students with specific and timely feedback is essential for student progress.
***This will be an area of high importance reflected in campus walk-throughs.
What is a data focused team meeting?
- Which students were unable to demonstrate proficiency on this assessment?
- Which students are highly proficient and would benefit from extended or accelerated learning?
- Did one or more colleagues have excellent results in an area where my students struggled? What can I learn from my colleagues to improve my practices?
- Is there an area in which none of us achieved the results we expected? What do we need to learn as a team to teach this skill or concept more effectively?
Technology
Websites
***We received a huge compliment at the last board meeting for our recent attention to streamline the teacher pages.
GREAT JOB TEAM!
