Pirate Toy Fund donations taken at tonight's varsity football game!
The mission at the Pirate Toy Fund is to put smiles on the faces of kids in need! Last year, they gave away over 30,000 toys to kids in hospitals, disadvantaged homes or those affected by house fires or natural disasters. You can help too by donating a new and unwrapped toy at the Varsity Football Sectional game on 10/25.! Let’s work together to help others in need! Webster Schroeder will be participating in the Cool School Challenge the week of 11/4. Help us reach our goal to become the winning school. The winning school will be featured on Good Morning Rochester on 13 WHAM on 12/6
Wondering what toy to donate to the Cool School Toy Challenge? Toys for infants and teens are ALWAYS needed! Great teen toys include sports balls, arts and craft kits, and board games! Any infant toys such as blocks, Little People toys, rattles, and board books are perfect as well!

George S. & Stella M. Knight Essay Contest
The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) invites all high school students (9th through 12th grades) interested in the American Revolution to participate in the George S. & Stella M. Knight Essay Contest. The contest is open to all US Citizen and Legal Resident students attending home schools, public, parochial, or private high schools in that same grade range. The National Association of Secondary School Principals has placed this program on the 2017-18 NASSP List of Approved Contests, Programs, and Activities for Students.
To participate, students must submit an original 800- to 1,200-word essay based on an event, person, philosophy or ideal associated with the American Revolution, Declaration of Independence, or the framing of the United States Constitution. Each student’s essay will be judged based upon its historical accuracy, clarity, organization, grammar and spelling, and documentation.
The contest is conducted in three phases: the local chapter, state-level society, and national phases. The contest must be entered through an SAR chapter near the student’s residence. In some cases, the contest may be entered at the state level (if the local society does not have chapters or the chapters are not participating) and a contact-at-large should be used to find out more contest details. The list of contest contacts listed below can provide you with assistance in entering the Knight Essay Contest. Only one entry per student is permitted per contest year.
Please go to the website below for more details.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Campaign
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is actively seeking high school students in Western & Central New York’s Students of the Year campaign and we are looking to connect with highly driven, passionate, and enthusiastic students. This campaign has shown great success amongst Buffalo high school students and we are thrilled to present this campaign to the Rochester area.
The campaign is a seven-week fundraising competition that allows students to form their own fundraising teams composed of friends, family and advisors to help them raise funds towards our mission. Candidates not only have the ability to form a fundraising team, but have the option of running on their own or in a group of 2-3 individuals. Throughout the seven weeks, candidates raise funds in honor of local blood cancer survivors, who serve as a source of inspiration and hope! The candidate who raises the most funds during the competition earns the title “Student of the Year” along with a $2,500 scholarship to the college or university of their choice.
Students of the Year candidates are those students who have a drive and determination to make a difference in the world, who go above and beyond the call of duty and have a heart for philanthropy. This program is ultimately a way for students to elevate themselves by utilizing and strengthening their leadership and communication skills while competing for a scholarship!
