CES Weekly Update
March 15 - 19
Week 2 of Hybrid Learning - DOWN!!!
Teachers and staff thank you for knocking out the 2nd week of Hybrid Learning. We continue to see our students adjusting and making good progress. It feels so warm and friendly to see all of the teachers waving students in each morning. The little ones are beginning to remember what door they enter each day, all by themselves. This week we will all be here all day, so we are hoping that our little ones will come to school well rested.

Hybrid Learning Instructional Help
Cedarmere teachers who have begun hybrid learning are doing a good job, of incorporating strategies to engage both virtual and in person learning. However, we recognize that this is still very new to all of you. The Instructional Leadership Team, we will be working on a few pointers and look fors to continue to build us up in this new instructional practice. Please see this video below of a teacher modeling an Open Court reading lesson using the concurrent teaching model. It also includes tips and pointers on this teaching style.

CES Housekeeping
- Building Cleaning Time: We are all continuing to adjust, to our new schedule. However, to ensure that the building is able to be cleaned by our evening Building Operation Staff in a timely and thorough manner they are requesting that you try to exit the building after your work day by 5pm. If you need to remain later, please let Michael or I know and we will communicate with the Building Operations Staff.
- Fire Drill Feedback: The first two fire drills went pretty well. Please remember to hold up your green card QUICKLY!! This will decrease the amount of time the point person is able to see if we are clear. Remember you can fill the form out after you account for all students being present.
- ABSENCES AND SUB PLANS: Faculty and Staff, this is a reminder that if you are going to be absent you MUST email, text or call administration (Regina and Michael) as soon as you can. Teachers please make sure you have appropriate emergency sub plans and or submit thorough sub plans if you are absent. It is NOT the responsibility of your team, para-educator or Lisa to create sub plans in your absence. This is under your Domain 4 (Professional Responsibilities) as a professional. We understand emergencies arise, and personal things occur and we are very understanding of that, however that does not negate your responsibilities for both your in person and virtual students.
