No School Monday, October 12th for Students

Book It Begins!

Reading is the heart of education and the only way to get better at it is to do it. So, with the help of the BOOK IT!® Program, our class will be “reading our hearts out” for the next six months. Here is how we can raise a reader together:

* Each month, I will send home a calendar for your child to log at least 15-20 minutes of reading a day. (You can read to your child, with your child, or allow your child to read to you).

* I will read aloud in class, show my passion for reading and basically be a walking book report to instill a love of reading in your child!

* When the goal is met, I will celebrate the achievement by recognizing your child with a Pizza Hut certificate in front of the whole class! They will also receive an end of the year award certificate for completing their reading log each month! We have a chart in the classroom that I will track each child's reading success with. They will be able to SEE their progress!

Please help me welcome our newest student: Jaylan V!

I love seeing that not only are more and more students mastering their sight words, but they aren't losing the sight words previously learned! Thanks for studying those flashcards each night! I can tell your children are working hard! Way to go!
