Student Birthdays
For most of our students, celebrating birthdays with their class is something they really look forward to doing. Similar to last year, we will not be accepting anything for distribution. At each school, the staff will be working together to expand on the ways we recognize student birthdays to ensure that students still have this experience.
Halloween
Students will be permitted to wear their costumes to school on Oct 29, 2021, which is a single session day. In order to ensure health and safety protocols are able to be followed, the masks that are being worn to school each day must still be worn. Other face coverings are prohibited. Due to social distancing concerns, there will NOT be a Halloween parade this year.
Room Liasions
This year, the PTO will be identifying room liaisons, who will work with their child’s teacher to coordinate the delivery of individually wrapped food and drink items (when permissible) as well as crafts and activities for classroom parties. At this time, due to health mitigation measures and the need to be able to contact trace, we will not be permitting visitors into the school. We will revisit allowing volunteers to attend parties in the spring.
Please consider joining and becoming involved in the Delran Elementary PTO.
Parent Teacher Conferences
During the week of December 13th-17th, parent-teacher conferences will be held. Based on the current health guidelines, we will be hosting virtual conferences. If the guidance changes, we will explore the possibility of in-person conferences.
If we are able to hold in-person conferences, we will also offer virtual conferences as an option as many parents and guardians shared that they appreciated having the online option since it eliminated child-care needs and reduced conflicts with work schedules. If you opt for an in-person conference, please be aware only one adult may attend and will be required to complete the COVID screening questions prior to entering the building.
Class Trips
It is our hope that we will be able to have field trips in the spring. We will be making a determination late winter/early spring, and will be communicating that to all parents in the Cub Corner (Millbridge) and DIS Dispatch. If we are able to have field trips, volunteers who have been selected and completed the volunteer application will be able to serve as chaperones. At this point, all individuals accompanying the classes will complete the COVID screening questions prior to entering the building.
