A Note from Mrs. Bratcher
Curtis Elementary is a future ready school located in the heart of Weatherford, Texas serving kindergarten through sixth grade students. Curtis partners with families and the community to create a positive, connected learning environment focused on educating the whole child. Highly qualified teachers challenge and inspire students to develop their talents and passions in order to prepare for future success in the global community. Curtis Elementary fosters creativity, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking in all students.
Curtis Elementary has programs and services to meet the needs of all students. These include Life skills classes, Dyslexia, Quest (Gifted and Talented), English as a Second Language (ESL), Reading and math interventions, Innovation class and various after school clubs.
I am the luckiest person in Weatherford ISD. I am blessed to serve as the Lead Learner at Curtis Elementary. Every day I am amazed at the learning taking place at Curtis Elementary. Our Curtis Roo Star teachers are the best. They work to provide meaningful, rich experiences for students each day. Students are approaching learning in different ways at Curtis.
One of my favorite things to do during the school day as principal, is visit classrooms. We have several classrooms using Google Classroom to guide students in learning. Students have more voice and choice in learning than ever before. I am so proud of our risk takers at Curtis - both teachers and students!
There are so many exciting things happening at Curtis Elementary! We strive to learn and grow with our students, staff, community partners and parents! Last week has been a perfect example of partnership. We had over 15 parents volunteer at camp this week. Parents, teachers, and students had a great week of learning and growing!
We appreciate all of our volunteers at Curtis! STAR Mentors and Curtis volunteers help to make Curtis a "World-Class" school!
Texas Team Up
Texans Team Up (#TexansTeamUp) is a program that provides opportunities for Tarleton Texans to engage in the community, address a community need, connect knowledge learned in the classroom to the service experience, and enhance skills by serving the community.
