The Board of Education provides a "Board Meeting Summary" after each Board meeting. The summary includes a brief description of the main topics and action items. These summaries are not meant to replace minutes. The minutes for each meeting are approved and posted after the next regularly scheduled meeting. We hope these summaries provide some basic information and context around the reports, presentations and action items. NOTE: In the interest of safety for Board and staff members, as well as the school community, the meeting format was adjusted. Due to current Executive Order requirements social distancing guidelines were in effect.

Superintendent Report on New ISBE/IDPH Guidelines, Parent Survey Results, and Pre-Decisional Plan | watch

Dr. Kaczkowski presented information about new guidance from the ISBE/IDPH and shared a pre decisional draft planning document for a possible transition to a full in-person model this current school year.

Board Discussion and Possible Consensus Direction | watch

The Board asked clarifying questions and discussed the possibility of transitioning to a full in-person model. The Board came to a consensus to direct the district to continue planning for a traditional full in-person learning model to be implemented this school year. Dr. Kaczkowski will bring more details and a timeline back to the Board at the March 22 Board of Education meeting. Parents will be asked to make a commitment to either the full in-person model or full remote model for the remainder of the school year.
