Celebrate Digital Learning Day and Socialize with Other Teachers!
Hi! My name is Jennifer Bond, and I am a third grade teacher at Glengary Elementary. A few days after the Sandy Hook tragedy, I was on twitter and some of the posts from the principal were being retweeted. One of the posts that caught my attention was a picture of the staff at Sandy Hook gathering for a PD called Appy Hour, just days before the shooting. (see below post.) I had wanted to have a fun, informal way to come together and share cool things we are doing on our iPad. I orginally thought "iPads and APPetizers" was what it would be called...until I heard a much better name for it..."Appy Hour!" I talked with Pam Shoemaker about it, and she thought it would be a great idea!
In honor of Sandy Hook and Digital Learning Day, Pam and I would like to invite you to Appy Hour at Uptown Grille on Maple Rd. Uptown Grille has wifi, so we thought it would be a perfect location for educators to get together to socialize and gain a greater APPtitude for using your iPad. This event is for anyone interested in learning or sharing all things awesome about apps! Please RSVP by Tuesday, February 5, 2013 so we can reserve enough tables.
