Canva for Education- #93
Students have access to over thousands of free, high quality templates on any subject or topic imaginable. Students can create posters, flyers, infographics, brochures, Newsletters, and so much more. Creating videos and using their templates is one of my favorite features.
Students are also able to collaborate in real-time, comment on work, and share templates without leaving the Canva interface.
Canva is the BEST and I absolutely LOVE it! To get a Canva for Education account click here and go through the process of setting it all up. Please do not have your students create a Canva account, instead have them join your Canva for Education Classroom account.
Important to Note:
Canva for Education is available for all students in MWISD; however, I would recommend this tool for 3rd grade and higher. There are different ways to invite students to your Canva for Education class account:
- Import Google Classroom- recommended for High School
- Send Invite Link- recommended with 3rd- 8th grade
Due to our students having different email policies, 3rd- 8th grade email accounts are restricted to be able to send and receive only with internal MWISD email accounts. Therefore, you do not want to use 'import to Google Classroom', instead you want to copy the invitation link and paste it in your Google Classroom.
Also, please DO NOT ALLOW students to connect their personal Facebook, Instagram, and Social Media accounts to Canva.

Students found mind map templates on Canva and then they manipulated them to fit their needs. They added backgrounds, changed font color and size, as well as the color and size of the bubbles.
