Lancer Home Connection

A Fun Filled Field Trip Week

We all had a great week as Lancers! We re-introduced our in person field trips! While last year, our teachers spent time virtually taking students across the globe, that in person touch was certainly missing.

This week our 7th and 8th graders headed to Springfield. In past years, this was only a 7th grade field trip, but, we didn't want our 8th graders to miss out on this educational trip learning all about our home state.

Our 2nd graders had the opportunity to walk to and learn all about the services that our local library offers our students. We love to read!

And, our Kindergarten classes headed to the Pumpkin Farm for learning activities, maze games, and other great adventures.

Thank you so much to these teachers for taking the time to plan these fabulous events for our children.

Common Sense Media

St. Damian works with Common Sense Media in an effort to be digitally responsible for our students. One of the benefits of Common Sense Media is that it rates movies, TV shows, books, and more so parents can feel good about the entertainment choices they make for their kids. They offer the largest, most trusted library of independent age-based ratings and reviews.

The latest Netflix movie craze is The Squid Game. We wanted to share some information about The Squid Game in order to help you make the best decision for your children.

Hearing and Vision Screening

We will be holding our annual hearing and vision screening. We need some volunteer assistance to make this successful. If you able to volunteer for a few hours on any given day, it would be great! Please see the link for more information.

Volunteers and COVID - 19 Vaccine

Beginning on October 31, 2021, all volunteers, including coaches, will need to either submit a COVID-19 Vaccine Card or proof of a negative test to work with our students.

This is per the Governor's mandate for schools. Please understand that if we do not follow the Governor's mandate, we will lose our non public recognition and not be able to play any athletics among other stipulations. All schools within The Archdiocese of Chicago are following the same guidance.

Please bring your card to the main office and we will keep an excel spreadsheet indicated that you have been vaccinated.
