The Weekly Connection
Updates from the Principal's Office - September 5th, 2022
Message from Mrs. Jones
Thank you for joining us last week for our Back-to-School Night & Class of 2023 Senior Info Night events! It was wonderful getting to enjoy these opportunities to connect with you in person.
News for This Week:
The Warrior Way/ASSETs program is up and running! We are thrilled to be able to offer both morning and afternoon classes this year due to the shift in start time. If your student arrives at school more than 45 minutes before the start of the day, they should take advantage of the opportunity for a safe, quiet place to study before the school day begins. For more information, check out the Warrior Way page on the FHS website.
Student ID cards have arrived and are in the process of being distributed. If your student did not pick theirs up during lunch on Thursday or Friday, they will receive it this week. If your student did not attend registration and take an ID photo, makeup photos will be taken on September 22nd. In the meantime, students may also access a digital version of their ID card via the 5 Star App.
Reminders:
- Does your student need a bus pass? In order to ride the bus, students need to 1) complete a bus pass application indicating which semester(s) and which route they will be riding, 2) submit their completed application to the AP Office, and 3) pay in full or begin making monthly payments on a pass. Any portion of a bus pass may be paid each month to create a "payment plan;" however, in order to continue riding the bus during 2nd semester, all 1st semester charges ($75) must be paid in full. If you have any questions about the bus pass application or purchase process, please reach out to the Main Office at x3102 or the AP Office at x3103.
- If you haven't already, please review the Student/Parent Handbook together. I want to specifically highlight the ways in which students demonstrate Warrior PRIDE, and how we invite families to support Warrior PRIDE; both are also included below for reference.
Please take a moment to review some of the resources available below. If there is something you need, please feel free to reach out by telephone at (760) 723-6300 x3102 or x3103.
Let's make this a great week, Warriors!

News You Can Use
College Wednesdays
Parking Permits Are Coming!
Click HERE for a parking permit application, or stop by the AP Office for a printed copy. Placards have not arrived yet; however, seniors can begin the process of purchasing their spaces through ASB on Monday 8/29 on a first come, first serve basis.
Seniors purchasing spaces will need to go to the ASB window during regular hours, purchase a space for $50, and select their space number from those available. Once the students have completed their purchase, they will then bring their completed application to the AP Office to receive their parking permit. All students must have proof of a current license, insurance and registration. We will send out a follow-up communication once the placard has arrived and students can complete the parking permit process.
Optional Locker Sign-ups
Please complete the locker request form if you would like to request a locker for the 2022-23 school year. Please note, lockers will be issued by request only and will be approved on a case-by-case basis. As a reminder - textbooks have been ordered so that students may keep a set of books at home; a locker should not be necessary for day-to-day purposes. Once we have reviewed and approved your request, the assistant principals' office will provide your locker assignment.
