Hello Panther Families,
Glen Oaks is extremely honored to have received a SECOND National Blue Ribbon - and we are ready to celebrate! Mark your calendars to join us on Tuesday, November 19th at 6:00pm in the Glen Oaks APR for a Blue Ribbon celebration reception and stay for the School Board Meeting at 7:00pm, which will also be hosted in the Glen Oaks APR. During the Board Meeting, we will be celebrating our wonderful school and highlighing many of our "Blue Ribbon" qualities!
We are seeking volunteers to help us document this historic celebration! - On Family Reading Night - Wednesday, October 16th - we will have a video booth set up where you can share your celebrations, thoughts, comments, thanks, etc. This information will be compiled into a documentary video, which will be shown at the November School Board meeting. If you are coming to Family Reading Night (which we hope you ARE!), please take a few moments to help us commemorate this wonderful accomplishment by recording a short testimonial - highlighting what Glen Oaks School means to you and your family. You can also email us with any information you would like to share - send your email to kreingruber@npd117.net
We are so thankful for all of our amazing parent volunteers who helped make our most recent PTA Fitness-A-Thon possible! Our students enjoyed the time they were able to spend outdoors during this wonderful activity. This yearly PTA fundraiser helps support programs at Glen Oaks School - we thank you for your generous donations and participation. We have included a few photos of the event below - enjoy!
Your partners in education,
Mrs. Kristin Reingruber, Principal

Family Read Night and Book Fair Family Night
Wednesday, October 16
6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
Hopefully you will be able to join us for this fun filled event. All of the activities for the evening will incorporate the 2020 Bluestem and Monarch books.
Again this year, we will have several Gift Baskets to be raffled off. Each basket contains a Bluestem or Monarch book as well as items that relate to the theme of the book. Your child will be able to purchase tickets at school October 7-October 16 and the night of Family Read Night. Tickets for the raffle will be $.50 each. NO CHANGE WILL BE AVAILABLE SO PLEASE DO NOT SEND LARGE DENOMINATIONS. Winners will be announced at the end of Family Read Night, but need not be present to win. All of the money collected by the sale of tickets will be donated to Pawsitive Therapy Troupe.
This year, we will have a room dedicated to Rescue and Jessica, a Monarch book about a therapy dog. Children will have a chance to read to a therapy dog from Pawsitive Therapy Troupe. Due to the nature of this room, we will have limited slots available at each session time. Please fill out the form that was sent home with your child and return by Friday, October 11 if your child is interested in reading to one of our dogs. We will randomly choose families from the returned slips to receive tickets and will then send the tickets home with your child prior to the event. Families will need this ticket to enter the dog room. If there is space, tickets may available the night of the event. If chosen, please bring a book that your child can read independently to our therapy dogs.
Hosted by your reading team
Mrs. Lavelle, Ms. Kennelly, Mrs. Pusko, Mrs. Hogan and Ms. Pulgar
