C.I.T.Y. News
January 2022
Happy New Year!
We hope you all had a wonderful holiday and were able to spend some time with your family and friends. This is the start of C.I.T.Y. of Support's 4th year, and (despite the constantly-changing pandemic atmosphere!), we are finding a more consistent rhythm. Our annual programs, like "We Love our C.I.T.Y." & our Graduation Celebration have become more organized, and our consistent monthly programs, like our 2nd-Weekend Playdates, V.I.P. learning groups, & C.I.T.Y. Close-Ups, are more predictable. You can always find our event calendar on our website (under "Events"), and we hope that this increased consistency will help you plan ahead & join in the fun during 2022!
2nd Weekend Great Therapy Playdate: January 9th
Our Local Leaders are hosting family playdates in different areas around the city on the 2nd weekend of each month! This is the perfect way to meet other families in your neighborhood who also have children in therapy. They are always offered at NO CHARGE for families; however, we ask that you are mindful of your RSVP. If you need to cancel, please reach out to the Local Leader in your region, so we can accommodate another guest on the waitlist.
This month, you can join us at:
NW/North Side of Chicago: Currently postponed.
Northwest Suburbs: Sunday, Jan. 9th from 10:00-11:00 at Marissa Bennett Consulting at 666 Dundee Rd., Suite #1605 in Northbrook, 60062. An RSVP is required. Please direct any questions to this region's Local Leader, Beth Deiter: hello@cityofsupport.org.

Her mom says:
"I am so proud of Sammy because she was very nervous and scared to start preschool. The first 2 days were hard at drop off but now after weeks of preschool so is so happy to be there. She cries if she has to miss a day and her teachers say she is doing amazing. Her skills have grown so much!"
You could be the next winner of our special monthly giveaway!

"As the founder and owner of NBS, I began helping families with special needs 15 years ago when I myself struggled with parenting my own son, who has special needs. They say it takes a village and I quickly realized that having a special needs child was a journey I couldn't go through alone. When he began early intervention at 8 months old, I was first exposed to a team of people who helped me help my son. The overwhelming feeling of gratitude I had for the clinicians who did everything they could to help my son empowered me to begin a career helping other families in my situation. My mission is simple: to give back. It has always been about giving back because I know what it is like to feel completely overwhelmed and lost navigating the day to day with my own child. Over the years I grew my business and added only the most compassionate and dedicated team members who collectively share the same passion and vision. I'm so proud of where NBS is today...we are an amazing group of individuals who wake up every day dedicating our lives to giving back in every way we can! But we can't do it alone, which is why we are so honored to be a part of the C.I.T.Y. community! The C.I.T.Y. organization allows us opportunities to give back to families and for that we will be forever grateful!"
