Turner Syndrome

What it is:
A chromosomal condition that affects development in 1 out of 2,500 newborn girls.
Signs:
- Short stature (evident around age 5)
- Early loss of ovarian function
- Many girls do not go through puberty

Prevention/Tips:
Turner Syndrome cannot be prevented, however, the following are tips recommended for women to follow to prevent other birth defects:
- Healthy diet
- Staying hydrated
- Exercise
Treatment:
- Hormone therapy can aid in the process of puberty
- Regular check-ups improve quality of life
- Healthy lifestyle habits
