Art Box Orders:
Art box orders arrived today and should come home with your child in their backpack. Please look for them! Also, it is not too late for those that did not order. A new order slip will be sent home today with all students that did not place an order the first time around. Thank you for supporting our school and we hope you love your products!
Lock Down Drill:
Today we held an all school lockdown DRILL. Lockdowns occur when there is a dangerous situation on campus. Luckily we have very few lockdowns in our neighborhood but it is important to practice the procedure in case there is ever a real need for one. Students are taught to get inside quickly when the notification is broadcast, and to wait quietly away from doors and windows until the all clear sounds. In the case of an active shooter, teachers are trained in the "Run, hide, fight" protocol in addition to our regular lockdown procedure. We hope there will never be a need to use this but understand the importance in being prepared. This is a conversation you may want to have with your kids at home if you have not already done so. Thank you!
Cell Phone Policy:
If your child has a cell phone, please remind them of our school cell phone policy. All student cell phones are to be powered off and kept zipped inside a backpack at all times. They are not to be taken out or used at any time during the school day or before school while on school grounds. They are for emergency use only. We have had several reports of phones out at lunch and we need your help to correct this. We would prefer the phones stay home, but if you do decide to send your child to school with a cell phone please have a conversation with them about the school policy. Thank you!
