Trimble Tech: Senior Night
Tuesday April 6th was Trimble Tech's Softball Senior Night where the seniors were spotlighted for all they have given the program over the years and are shown just how much they are appreciated as well as their families! Those bio’s will be below under the pictures of those seniors as they were acknowledged. Whether it was all the pomp and circumstance the Bulldogs started off really slow with little production through the first three innings other than a homerun by freshmen Valeria Avitia over the left field fence. Valeria was subsequently walked the rest of the game and didn’t get another opportunity to swing the bat. Going into the bottom of the third inning Trimble Tech lead by a score of 2-1, that is when the bats got going and unleashed their bark. Ended up being one run shy of a the mercy rule and ended up finishing off the game 17-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning. There is still plenty of softball to be played but we would like to THANK our seniors and their families for all their hard work and dedication over the years!
#1 Jennifer “Jessica, Jennifer, Jessie” Ruiz was escorted by her parents Constantino and Ardminda Ruiz. Jennifer played three years on varsity and was Academic All District 2019, and Most Improved Bulldog Softball Award. Her major in engineering where she earned a CSWA certification in 2020. She plans on studying computer science to become a software engineer. She would like to thank her coaches and teammates for a memorable four years.

Arianeth is also a member of choir where she was awarded Division 1 in solo ensemble. She will be attending Sam Houston State University in the fall of 2021, where she plans to receive a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.

Sierra has been playing on the varsity softball team for four years and has received all district honorable mention her sophomore year. She has a 3.95 GPA, and her major is HST. Her future plans are to attend TCU and earn a degree in Nursing.
From Sierra: “First, I want to start off by thanking all of my coaches for always pushing me to be the best player I can be. I want to thank all of my teammates for giving me this opportunity to learn and grow with and from one another. Last but not least, I want to thank my parents for always believing in me and supporting me throughout my whole journey. I thank my mom for being the biggest cheerleader at my games. I thank my brother for always screaming at me to “hustle”. Most importantly I want tot thank my dad/coach. With out you I wouldn’t be the player I am today; your support means everything. And with God all things are possible.”
#7 Maritza Santos was escorted by her mother Zoila Lopez. She started playing softball her freshmen year and moved up to varsity her sophomore year. Maritza earned the community scholarship and thus plans to attend TCU and major in political science.

She plans on attending Texas Women’s University in Denton to learn about becoming a nurse anesthesiologist. She wants to thank her coaches for giving her the opportunity to play the sport that she loves, these past four years have been amazing, this sport has taught her to work hard, to be strong and to be resilient and the best part is that she grew a special bond with my teammates, but most importantly I want to thank my parents for always supporting me through my best and my worst moments, she loves yall!

To her teammates she is grateful for still being treated as part of the team, even though she couldn’t be on the field physically.

Trimble Tech HS
The Trimble Tech boys and girls track teams competed at the regional track meet this weekend in Lubbock Texas. It was a sight to behold. Our senior sensation Kenondra Davis(see video below) even with a slightly injured leg ran away from the competition. She pulled off the win in the 100md running a time of 11.54 seconds, she then moved on to win the 200md dash in a blazing time of 23.34 seconds. She is currently ranked number 2 in the nation in both events. She will be our lone competitor and a force to be reckoned with as she travels to Austin Texas for the State Championship on May 7th. Also, Ms. Davis is currently signed to a scholarship at the University of Southern California to start her college career.
Tech Senior Keiohna Williams our sweet, soft spoken powerhouse star competed in the 400md. She raced to a 3rd place finish in her personal best time 57.57 seconds just shy of qualifying for the state championships. For Keiohna this was her final race for her high school track career. She has not committed to a University yet, but we are hopeful, to get her signed by the end of the school year.
Sophomore Joel Cabral also competed in the 800md running 201.73 very near his personal best time this year. Although he will not advance, Joel has worked very hard this year to get to this level and has shown great strength and leadership. We have no doubt he will do great things in the future.

Poly HS Boys' Athletic Coordinator: Jeff Green
Coach Jeff Green was born and raised in Ontario, California. He graduated from Chaffey Junior College and California State University, San Bernardino, where he earned a B.A. in Social Sciences. He began teaching and coaching at Cajon High School in San Bernardino, CA in the fall of 1995.
Coach Green and his wife Tracey have three children (Kelsey—20, Jenna—17, and Jackson—15). Kelsey is currently a U.S.M.C. Lance Corporal, serving as a military police officer at Marine Corps Air Station, Iwakuni, Japan. Jenna is a senior at Burleson High School and will be attending Arizona State University upon graduation. Jackson is a freshman at Burleson High School and participates in football, baseball, and track. He is also the proud ball boy for the Poly Parrot football team.
In 2004, Coach Green and his wife made a bold move to the great state of Texas. His first teaching/coaching job in Texas was in Pecos, the ‘Home of the World’s First Rodeo’, where he served as the offensive line coach and head powerlifting coach. From there, he was offered the same position at North Crowley High School working for state champion head coach, Mike Papas. One year later, the offensive coordinator at North Crowley got his first head coach position at South Hills High school and offered Coach Green the offensive coordinator position. He coached at South Hills High School for six years. From there, he went to Burleson High school and became the assistant head coach/offensive line coach for two years. In 2017, he received the blessing of becoming the athletic coordinator/head football coach at Polytechnic High School. It has been a great three years for him and his family! He would like to thank each of you for the continued support of the Polytechnic community, school, and athletic programs. Go Parrots!!!
Meet the PHS Athletic Training Staff
Melissa Reinert
Melissa Reinert, or “Doc” as she’s known by her athletes, has been at Polytechnic High School for 9 years. She is a licensed Athletic Trainer. Melissa is a native of Alamogordo, New Mexico. She graduated in 2000 from the University of New Mexico with a bachelor of science in Athletic Training. Prior to coming to FWISD, Melissa was an Athletic Trainer for Porter High School in Brownsville, TX for one year. She also served as the girls Athletic Trainer at La Joya High School and then helped open Palmview High School where she worked for 11 years for the district. What Melissa enjoys the most about her job is building relationships with her athletes and watching them come back stronger from significant injuries. She always laughs at the fact that she’s now been at Poly long enough to have taken care of several siblings within a family.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time with family, friends and her 9-year-old Chihuahua Bella. She also enjoys making beautiful wreaths for people. This summer Melissa will serve as the Athletic Trainer for the Texas Girls Coaches Association All Star Volleyball game.
