Thank you for those parents and families who joined our very first Virtual Open House. It was a new setting and experience for all of us, but it is an important night that we look forward to every year. If you didn't have an opportunity to join a class, please reach out to your child's teacher by email if you have any questions or concerns.
Friday, September 4 was the end of our first Progress Report period. Please review your child's grades in Skyward and talk to your child about their progress. Monday, September 7 is a holiday, therefore, students are not required to attend any synchronous classes.
As you may have heard, Fort Bend ISD is planning for a return to face to face learning. Online learning will still be available to those families that prefer to remain at home due to COVID concerns. As we plan for this return, it is vitally important that all families complete the Learning Model Selection process by 4:30 pm on Tuesday, September 8. Please review the video below to hear from Dr. Dupre and also visit the www.fortbendisd.com/relaunch page to review the protocols that will be in place for your child's possible return to campus. Please be informed prior to making a selection. Although we may return to the building, our day will look very different from what students are used to.
For Select families: Students will need to have proper immunizations, complete any Dual Enrollment or Power of Attorney forms, or complete the online verification process, before being able to return to campus. So if you plan to request face to face instruction and have been contacted by HBMS to complete these tasks, they need to be completed as soon as possible in order to return to campus.
Now that we are a few weeks into the school year, it's important for families to check with your child about their progress and needs. Most of our students have been actively engaged online and are having a positive experience. If you feel that your child is struggling, I recommend that you reach out to your child's counselor for assistance.
Hodges Bend has several resources that we offer to our students and families, when there is a need. The Vida Clinic and Clearhope Counseling are just two of the programs we offer. For more information, please contact our counseling team at 281-634-3009.
Our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is in need of members and leaders to work for our students this school year. If you are interested in volunteering your time to provide support to our campus, we welcome your interest. Please contact Lawrence.Cousin@fortbendisd.com for more information. Thank you for your support.

Return to In-Person Instruction
You can also watch the video recording of the latest Board meeting at Sept 2 Board Meeting Video
The first step to returning students to the campus is for parents to select whether they would like their children to continue with online instruction from the home or if they'd like for their FBISD students to return to their campus for face to face instruction. Each family has received an email from Fort Bend ISD titled: [EXTERNAL]: ACTION REQUIRED: Learning Model Selection. Please check your email and clutter folder to review the information.
It is very important that you understand the implications of your selection. Please be advised that bus transportation is not guaranteed for those families requesting in person learning. Families will be required to transport their student to/from school.
