Full STEAM Ahead!
Fox Families,
Welcome to the 2022-23 school year. I eagerly look forward to seeing our Fox families again. It remains an honor and privilege to serve as your principal. The new school year is starting soon, and the Fox Elementary teachers and staff are eagerly awaiting the return of students on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. All signs point to another incredible and productive school year. Our skilled and devoted staff is already planning and preparing for your child(ren). Our enthusiastic office team is registering new families, ordering needed materials and updating student files. Our hard working and conscientious custodians have spent the entire summer thoroughly cleaning the facility. And, our much-appreciated PT0 is gearing up to welcome families, provide volunteer opportunities, and offer other exciting events and programs. Fox Elementary is an innovative collaborative community where all learning is connected to solving real world problems using communication, creativity, critical thinking, and character building.
Below are some tips to help you navigate the first weeks of school. Please be on the look-out for our campus newsletter in the first Wednesday folder. We look forward to working with you and your family as we partner to make this year even more successful. I hope that you are as excited as we are to begin this fantastic expedition! Enjoy the rest of your vacation and we look forward to seeing you at Meet the Teacher. Go…. CUBS!!

We look forward to you visiting for lunch on or after August 31.
Beginning the 22-23 school year, USDA will no longer offer waivers allowing all students to eat for free. We encourage all families to apply electronically at kisd.us/frmealapp to see if your student(s) qualify for free or reduced priced meals.

Student Arrival
Morning Arrival
- The building will open to students at 7:40 a.m.
- If your child arrives earlier than 7:40 please remind your him/her to stay in the line or sit on the benches until the doors open. It's very distracting to drivers and unsafe if students are running around.
- Parents are welcome to walk their students to class on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of the first week of school. Classes begin at 8:10 so the building must be cleared by that time.
- If you drive your student to Fox, avoid dropping them off on Frasatti Way and having them walk to the school. Please plan to come a little earlier and drop them off with the other car riders.
Car Rider Drop Off Lanes
- Families can access either of the morning drop off lanes. We recommend that families of Pre-K and Kinder use the lane closest to the building.
- We ask that all students exit from the passenger side of the vechile.
- The lane inside the visitor parking lot will also be used for morning drop-off.
o Students will exit their vehicle and wait for a Fox staff
member to direct them to walk forward.
o Students will be escorted across the crosswalk and into the front of the building.
o When all students have cleared the area, cars will then be directed to move forward.
- Please be patient with other parents dropping off by refraining from passing/driving around cars that may be taking a little longer to drop off.
Walkers
Students will enter through the front of the school.
Dismissal Procedures
During dismissal, classrooms will be notified of car rider numbers as cars arrive and students will be dismissed to the front in waves.
- We ask that all drivers follow the designated car rider route and be attentive by refraining from talking and/or texting in the school zone. The safety of our children, faculty, and staff is our upmost priority.
- To pick up students in the car rider area, you must have a car decal in your windshield. You may get a car decal at Meet the Teacher if you did not get one at Kinder Round-up or you can complete THIS FORM by August 5th and we'll have a car decal waiting for you to pick up in the cafeteria at Meet the Teacher.
- Families with students in multiple grade levels will be issued a car number based on the grade of their youngest child.
- All cars in the immediate pick-up area must be loaded before cars are allowed to move forward. If your child is not in the vehicle when the line moves, you will need to drive and park in the lot. We'll bring your child to you.
- Please remove your decal from your window as soon as your child gets in the vehicle. This will signal that you are ready and help us determine when the line can move forward to exit the pick-up area.
Walkers will be dismissed at 3:25.
Pre-K-1st Walkers
Students will exit through the exterior doors leading from their den area. A staff member will walk students to the stop sign on Port Aegean Drive.
2nd-3rd Walkers
- Students will exit through the exterior doors leading from their den area and will be walked along the sidewalk leading to the marque.
4th-5th Walkers
- Students will exit through the exterior doors leading from their den area and will be walked along the sidewalk leading to the marque.
Bus Transportation
Bus drop off times in the afternoon are usually delayed the first few days of school as the students and drivers are establishing routines. Feel free to contact KISD transportation or Fox Elementary for updates before leaving your bus stop area. We will keep you up updated via Remind if buses are delayed longer than we anticipate.
Locate Your Child’s Bus Route
- Complete the search form with your street address (house number and street name are both required).
- Specify a campus or grade level (without grade level you will see results for all three campus levels).
Please Note...
- Your child should be at their bus stop 10 minutes prior to the scheduled pick-up time.
- Although every effort is made to keep the system current, some bus numbers may change.
Pre-K Students
It is the policy of the Klein Independent School District that no pre-kindergarten student will be dropped off at the residence in the afternoon home trip unless there is a responsible caretaker there to receive the student. If a responsible caretaker is not available, your child will be returned to his/her campus and you will be notified by the school to pick your child up at that location.
We do not require, but encourage parents with children in grades kindergarten - 2nd to be at the bus stop or have a responsible adult meet the bus in the afternoon. This assures the bus driver that your child is in safe hands. If no one is available for this purpose, please notify the bus driver that your child can be dropped off unattended.
