Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT)
Over the next two weeks, students in third and fifth grade, as well as new fourth grade students, will participate in this district-administered assessment, which is used as part of the advanced program placement process. The CogAT measures learned reasoning and problem-solving skills in the quantitative and/or verbal areas depending on grade level. Third and fifth grade, as well as new fourth grade students, will participate in the quantitative battery. Fifth grade will also participate in the verbal battery. Classroom teachers will email parents with specific testing dates and times.

AHC-PTA Pack the Piggy Fun-Raiser
Are you ready to Pack the Piggy, Dryden? The Arlington Heights Council of PTA’s (AHC-PTA) funds $10k in scholarships each year for K-8 students, as well as D214 graduating seniors. This October, the AHC-PTA will be initiating it’s second annual “Pack the Piggies” FUN-raiser across the district to raise money for these scholarships.
The contest begins October 24 and goes through October 28, five days to pack our piggy and reach our goal! Dryden's school goal is to raise $1,000, with a district goal of $9,000. If we reach our district goal, our prize is duct-taping Mrs. Sessler to the wall! To help reach our goal, you can bring in coins, cash, or checks (made out to the AHC-PTA) and pack Dryden's piggy! Let’s have some fun for a great cause!
