Help Wanted: Explore More Day
Explore More Day has been a longstanding tradition at Madison and we are excited to be able to bring it back this year. We cannot pull off an event like this without a large volunteer effort so we are calling for all willing volunteers.
What is Explore More Day?
Typically held the Friday before Memorial Day, it is a daylong program of learning from parents, guest teachers through hands-on activities. Sub-committee volunteers are needed for each grade, along with volunteers to teach classes, and help instructors in class.
What help is needed?
Committee Chair (1 or 2 Volunteers)
Responsibilities include:
- Host kick off meeting with sub-committee volunteers
- Responsible for communicating to sub-committee volunteers
- Coordination with Madison staff
- Attending day of activities
Don't worry, we have templates of all the documents you would need from past years! We just need someone willing to step up and lead the effort! Volunteers do NOT need to set the cirriculum.
Responsibilities include:
Volunteers will help in pre-event coordination with volunteers/instructors and materials as well as attending day of activities.
- Kindergarten-3 Volunteer Openings
- 1st Grade-1 Volunteer Opening
- 2nd-5th Grade-6 Volunteer Openings

Here's to All We'll Do in 2022!
We hope everyone is settling into the new year. Thanks to this wonderful community, the Madison PTA was able to give back and also sponsor many fun activities and resources in 2021. We have even more planned for 2022 and appreciate your continued support. Stay tuned here or on the Madison PTA Facebook Page if you're a member, for updates on what's next and how you can get involved. It's never too late (or too early!) to volunteer.

Students Invited to Participate with Madison Cares
This year students in each grade have the option to take part in one project during their lunch recess to support the local DuPage Pads organization. The mission of Pads is to end homelessness by providing immediate shelter and food, and connecting individuals and families with resources on a path to get from dependency to self-sufficiency. Our goal is to help students gain an understanding of the needs of others in our community, and simple ways they can give back. Information with project dates and details will be sent to parents in the weeks prior. Grade level projects will include:
- Making fleece blankets
- Putting together Mens & Womens personal care packs
- Creating activity bags for children
- Putting together baby care donation packs
- Making Valentines cards with a prepackaged treat
If you are interested in volunteering during your student’s project, or have questions, please email secretary@madisonschoolpta.org
