Principal's Message
We have just a few more days until Spring Break! I know the kids and teachers are excited for a change of pace for the week. My family and I are headed to Oak Island, NC. We've never been there before, but I figure it's hard to go wrong with a seaside destination. Whether you are traveling or staying in town, make the week special by planning some extra family activities.
Click here if you need ideas for staycation destinations in and around Atlanta. If you have to work and only have evenings to spend with your kids, here are a few ideas for how to connect closer to home.
Spending time with your kids is so important, both to you and to them. I can tell you that I spent years trying to listen attentively as my son talked about Minecraft and other things that were not particularly interesting to me, but it is all paying off. Now that he is 13, I genuinely enjoy our conversations. I believe that the time we spend with our kids when they are young builds a strong foundation for our relationship and experiences with them for the rest of our lives.
It is my hope that you all get some rest, relaxation and relationship building time with your family over the break!
All the best,
Stephanie Haga

SAVE THE DATES: Georgia Milestones Assessment Dates for Grades 3, 4, and 5
Georgia Milestones testing begins Monday, April 25. The test measures knowledge and skills in language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies and provides critical information about achievement and readiness for next level of learning. With the absence of significant testing data from the last two years, this year’s scores will be used to establish a new baseline for schools and the district. Participation is crucial. The district expects all students in grades 3-8 and those in a high school end-of-year (EOC) course to participate. Thank you for partnering with the district to ensure a high rate of student participation.
