American Participation in Politics
Summary
Political Participation in America is classified into conventional and unconventional. Participation in politics is dependent on class, social status, education and occupation. The views of the young and the poor tend to be less important to politicians because they are not likely to participate, are politically uneducated, and can’t easily relate to the often wealthy political leaders.
Participation
Wealthy citizens are far more likely to vote. This is an example of participation inequality.
Activists
This political activist is conventionally participate in the 2008 presidential election by going door-to-door to get support for his candidates.
Protest
The Black Lives Matter movement has used unconventional participation tactics, such as protests, to gather interest and attention for its cause
