Kirk Fenton News
27th September 2019
Dear Parents / Carers,
This week I have so many people to be thankful to. First of all Mr Askey for all his wonderful work transforming our new Thrive room. It is amazing!
You may have heard that we have been having our Church School inspection today and I am so grateful to all the people who have been involved both in preparation and on the day itself.
It is our wonderful parents and the support of the community that helps to make Kirk Fenton the school that it is.
At time of writing I don't have the outcome of the inspection, but I will forward the report once we have it.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Karen Williams

Secondary School Applications for current Y6
This information is for families living in North Yorkshire who have a child born between 1 September 2008 and 31 August 2009 as your child is due to transfer from primary to secondary school in September 2020.
Families living outside North Yorkshire will need to contact their own home Local Authority to obtain the information regarding school admissions and to make an application to the Authority where they live.
You can start to apply for a secondary school place for your child from 12 September 2019 and you must submit your application by 31 October 2019
Information regarding the application process will be available from 12 September 2019, at www.northyorks.gov.uk/admissions
We've been busy helping out in the new library this week, getting all the books back out onto the shelves so that the children can find whatever they are looking for - whether non-fiction for their topic work or imaginative stories like Roald Dahl just for fun.
What's it like being on the committee?
If you've ever thought you'd like to get involved with Friends of Kirk Fenton, or are considering joining the committee, then we'd love to hear your questions about what it entails. We have our AGM (Annual General Meeting) coming up on 23rd October, so get your questions in now and we can help you understand what's involved so you can decide how involved you'd like to be.
Many hands make light work
One of our biggest events each year is the Christmas Fair. It raises funds for us to allocate within school, but it's also a lovely family affair which the children and parents enjoy. It takes a lot of organising, BUT many hands make light work... if you can help in any way, please get in touch sooner rather than later.
