Gotta Move! Day 3

Keepin' In Step with the Spirit: Faithfulness & Gentleness

Day 3 Bible Study

Today we learned the bible verse from Luke 15:18

“I shall get up and go to my father and I shall say to him, “Father , I have sinned against heaven and against you.”

We learned about the prodigal son who left his family and his father because he thought he would be better off on his own doing what he wanted to do. That didn't work out so well for him! After he lost all his money and didn't have a place to live, he saw the pigs were eating better than him. He decided to ask forgiveness from his father and ask to come back and live with him. Just like this parable, God will welcome us back with open arms anytime! Sometimes it's hard to say "I'm sorry" but we know that God loves us so much!

Check out these kids finding the story of The Prodigal Son in Luke! Great work kids! Learning to find verses in the Bible can be tricky but we are getting better at it!

Day 3 Snack

Our snack today was some mud and pigs! (or maybe it was chocolate pudding and gummy pigs) Remember how the prodigal son was so hungry that he would even eat what the pigs were eating? Hope your kids can tell you the story of the prodigal son and how God always accepts our apology!

Day 3 3D: Double Dutch & Dance

Groups continued to learn to jump double dutch and played other jump rope games. We also practiced some of our dance choreography with the Go Fish Guys! We "gotta move" to keep in step with the Spirit!

Check out the jumping spin by Alexander and some double dutch by our teen leader Nathan!

Day 3 Craft

Boomerangs....what do you know about boomerangs? They always come back right? You through them and through some amazing physics, they come back to you. God will ALWAYS welcome us back. We can always repent and ask for forgiveness! We even got to try out our boomerangs! I guess the throw is similar to throwing a football. Google it...there's instructional videos out there.

Milwaukee Rescue Mission Donations

Wow! We had a great turn out of notebooks today! Tomorrow is our last day...carnival toys. That Mission Monday's team I keep talking about will be setting up a carnival for the kids that are at the Rescue Mission. Your carnival toy donations will be used for that carnival!
  • Monday--1" and 1.5" binders and folders
  • Tuesday--black dry erase markers
  • Wednesday-notebooks (single subject)
  • Thursday--new carnival toys (for a planned St. Joe's run carnival for the kids at the Rescue Mission)

Today we watched this video with snack to consider "who is our neighbor?" and how Jesus is calling us to love our neighbors.

Interested in joining us for Child and Family Ministry next year?

We meet on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month (September through May) to learn about God and grow in relationship with Jesus. We start with a light breakfast at 8:30 and then break into age groups from 9:00-10:15. Adults are invited to stay and join a small group of other adults learning about their faith. Kids go to groups to have some fun, get to know each other and most importantly to get to know God through their Catholic faith. Interested in learning more?
