The vision of the Collegiate Academy at Blackman High School is to create a challenging learning environment with a rigorous course of study where students can become well-rounded scholars who fulfill their potential as they transition from high school to post-secondary opportunities.

Conversation Series Lynda Williams
Our February Speaker Series with Ms. Lynda Williams was amazing!
Ms. Lynda Williams, currently an MTSU Criminal Justice professor, was the highest-ranking African-American woman in the history of the Secret Service, which is charged both with protecting the president of the United States and protecting the nation’s monetary supply. She has received numerous awards and commendations throughout her distinguished career with the United States Secret Service and serves as a mentor to current agency leaders. She served on the Presidential details of Presidents George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton.

Biology Scholarship Opportunity for MTSU Incoming Freshmen
The Biology Department at Middle Tennessee State University has three $1,500 scholarships available to first-semester freshman. The recipients of the awards must be graduating high school seniors, must declare Biology as their major and be entering MTSU for the Fall 2019 semester. Successful applicants will also need to demonstrate an interest in the life sciences and have career aspirations in a biological field. The scholarships will be awarded based on the students’ ACT scores, high-school GPA, and their responses on the attached application form. In order to apply, a student must have an ACT score of 25 or better and a high-school GPA of 3.5 or above. The deadline for application is March 31, 2019.

- BCA Parent Organization invites parents of NEW and existing BCA members to join us! We meet once a month to discuss ways we can support BCA students and teachers. There are lots of opportunities to get involved through donating items, volunteering at events and joining a committee. Our next meeting is Monday, March 11th at 6:30 PM in the Media Center. Life Experience
Students must complete 40 hours of real-life experience in the area of his/her major. The experience must be approved by the faculty board. This experience can be completed any year but must be completed by April of the senior year. The experience may or may not be a part of the student’s senior research project. The experience should be meaningful and provide insight into the field of study the student is interested in. If you have already completed one of these classes in school please circle it on the form and write what year you took it.

Students can come by Mrs. Noffsinger's room in C-15 to get a form or click here to access the form on the BCA website. Forms should be turned in to Mrs. Noffsinger in C-15 or put in her mailbox. Experiences to be completed next summer must be submitted no later than May 1, 2019. The application is due 30 days prior to the experience in order to be approved by the committee. All life experience hours must be complete by April of your senior year.
