April 2022- Enon Elementary School
Principal's Message
Welcome to Quarter 4! We are entering the final stretch of the school year. This month we have several big events like the Boosterthon Fun Run during grade level Resource times on April 19th along with our Enon Loves the Earth Day on April 22nd to learn about science and conservation. As a reminder, Friday, April 15th is a holiday for staff and students.
Thank you to our PTO for purchasing a new math program for Enon! We have just added Imagine Math to our "backpack". This is a game based format to help your child learn their math facts so be sure to check it out and have them practice at home! Thanks PTO!
Our Standards of Learning (SOL) assessments begin later this month. We will be giving the Reading tests in a 2 day format for 3rd, 4th and 5th. Math will be in a two day format for our 3rd graders and in a 1 day format for our 4th and 5th graders. We have provided the testing calendar for you below. We want to thank you all for your support as we get ready for our testing time.
Thank you for your support as we continue to work together to close any learning gaps from the pandemic. Many of you have brought your child early to school for our CARES tutoring sessions. Please continue to have your child work at home on Lexia, Dreambox and now our new Math Facts program- Imagine Math to practice math facts prior to the SOL. I have also included some updates on our Summer Learning opportunities below.
We also have some end of the year dates to share! Please save the dates:
Field Day will be on Friday, May 20th for our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. Kindergarten Field Day will be on Friday, May 27th. Please contact our PE teacher Mrs. Glunt if you are interested in volunteering. Heather_Glunt@ccpsnet.net
Our End of the Year classroom celebrations will be on Tuesday, May 31st for Kindergarten-4th grade. Specific times will be announced later on. Our 5th graders will have a special picnic on Wednesday, June 1st at Enon. On June 1st, we will also have an End of the Year Celebration car parade (similar to the one last year) beginning at 5:30-6:00 for our 5th graders and then 6:00-6:45 for all students. Thursday, June 2nd is a half day and is also the last day of school.
Finally, we appreciate your support with reminding your child to continue to show their PRIDE as we finish out the school year! Let's keep that great behavior and learning going!

Summer Session Information
We wanted to remind all of our families about how our summer session will work this year. On April 1st, we sent home Summer Session Invitations for our in person summer school program which will be held at Enon this year. These invitations are only available for students with an academic need. Participation is recommended but optional for families. If your child receives an invitation, you will need to follow the directions on the invitation to register your child. Transportation, breakfast and lunch will all be available. Mrs. Dawn Pavkov will serve as our summer school principal.
Students who did not receive an invitation to in person summer session can still take part in a virtual synchronous program this summer. Registration for this program will open on April 22nd. Information about the summer school programs can be found here: CCPS Summer Programs
