Where Learning Takes Flight

A Note from Mrs. Tallent

Thank you to all the parents and families who joined us for our annual Turkey Trot on the Friday before break! We couldn't have asked for better weather and it was a great way to lead us into our week off. Mr. Griffin and I loved seeing all the younger siblings and grandparents participating! Our students, staff and families completed a total of 9,769 laps which is the equivalent of 1,633 miles! Wow...that is impressive!!!

We hope everyone was able to enjoy some time with family this week and spent some time reflecting on what you are thankful for! Mr. Griffin and I hope you all know how thankful we are to be part of this amazing community and to work alongside the dedicated staff members we have at FCE!

As we move into the upcoming holiday season, we will be celebrating 12 days of Christmas by having dress up days for our staff and students! The fun starts Thursday, Dec. 2nd so start planning your outfits now!

Grandparent's Luncheon

Grandparents' Luncheon will be December 2nd (K-2) and December 3rd (3-5). We will have one grade eating with their grandparents at a time. Grandparents will be able to social distance with their grandchild inside or eat outside under our pavilion if they prefer. Students who don't have a grandparent coming will get to eat in their classrooms or have a picnic with their teachers. We try to make this a fun experience for everyone regardless of whether a grandparent comes or not!

Things to Remember for Grandparents Luncheon:

  • Don’t forget to fill out the fast pass for your child’s visitor to bring to the front office on Grandparents Day on December 2nd for K-2 students or December 3rd for 3-5 students.

  • Visitors are welcome to bring outside food for themselves and the child they will be visiting.

  • Please make sure all visitors allow enough time to check in before their child’s scheduled lunch.

Volunteers Needed for Junior Achievement!

Junior Achievement is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to inspire young people to succeed in a global economy. We need one parent volunteer per class to come in 5 times a year for 1 hour. Junior Achievement will provide the training and curriculum; we just need your enthusiasm, life experience, and a willingness to teach children about how you took chances and shot for the stars! If you are interested in volunteering, or have any questions about the Junior Achievement role, email Bridget Pittman at fceptoja@fcpto.com. Please include your child’s grade and teacher. Thank you!
