Scholarships for Crosby Scholars
We encourage Crosby Scholars to apply for these scholarships that are only available to students who complete our program. You will have access to these applications through your Crosby portal. Log-in and click the Scholarships tab to view all the details. Pay special attention to deadlines and requirements for completing the applications.
All scholarship recipients will be announced at the Crosby Scholars Senior Gala on May 7th.
ALL SCHOLARSHIPS ARE OPEN NOW AND WILL CLOSE ON MARCH 15TH.
Antonio and Victoria Muñoz Scholarship
The Antonio and Victoria Munoz Scholarship awards $500 to a Spanish-speaking student with at least one parent from Mexico. Application includes a 300-word minimum essay on the topic of how his/her family came to the US and the barriers your family had to overcome. (cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher, EFC of 10000 or less)
Bob Casmus: Medical/Healthcare Scholarship Award
The Bob Casmus Scholarship Award provides a $500 non-renewable scholarship to a graduating Crosby Scholar Senior who intends to enroll in a 2-year or 4-year program for allied healthcare. Applicant must have a GPA of 3.0 or better, submit a 500-word essay as to why he/she is choosing to enter the medical field. This essay should also include your goals and aspirations.
David Post Public Service Scholarship
The David Post Public Service Scholarship provides a non-renewable $500 scholarship to one graduating Crosby Scholar senior who demonstrates academic ability and strong community involvement. The applicant must have a GPA of 3.0 or better, minimum of 10 hours of community service, and submit a 500-word essay addressing how Salisbury/Rowan County should approach racial justice and racial healing in our community.
Joyce Kohfeldt Determination Award
The Joyce Kohfeldt Determination Award provides a $1,000 non-renewable scholarship annually to a graduating Crosby Scholar Senior who has overcome adversity while pursuing his or her educational goals and has emerged with a remarkable story of determination. Applicant must plan to enroll in a 2 or 4-year college or university.
Paul Fisher Scholarship
The Paul Fisher Scholarship goes to a first-generation college student who submits an essay with prompt: "How I've been inspired educationally and how I hope to inspire others." Student must attend a 4-year college or university.
Sue P. Fisher Scholarship
The Sue P. Fisher Community Service Scholarship is a non-renewable $1000 scholarship to one graduating Senior who has overcome adversity, shows respect for all others (parents, family, teachers, law enforcement and community leaders), has demonstrated qualities of a leader and has demonstrated the willingness and value of serving others. Essay with prompt "How do I plan to be an agent of POSITIVE CHANGE in my community?"
Goodwill Willpower Scholarship
The Goodwill Willpower Scholarship is sponsored by Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina. This $1,000 scholarship will go to a student who has overcome adversity resulting from a personal choice and has emerged with a remarkable story of willpower and determination. Student must plan to enroll in a 2 or 4-year college or university.
John A. Carter Memorial Scholarship
The John A. Carter Memorial Scholarship annually awards a non-renewable $1000 scholarship to one graduating Crosby Scholar Senior from a middle income family with financial need who plans to attend a 2 or 4-year college or university. (unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher and EFC between 5199-12000)
John O. Reynolds Memorial Scholarship
The John O. Reynolds Memorial Scholarship awards a non-renewable $1000 scholarship to one graduating Crosby Scholar Senior from a family with demonstrated financial need who plans to attend a 2 or 4-year college or university. (cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.25 or higher and EFC of 5198 or less)

Medical Profession Symposium
Crosby Scholars is proud to offer a Medical Profession Symposium for students who are considering a degree and career in the healthcare or medical industry.
Students will learn about different programs and degrees offered at various regional colleges and universities. The symposium will include a brief panel to discuss various career paths based on their programs. Representatives will then be available to answer questions and provide information. Come out and learn about the many career opportunities in the fields of Medical Assisting, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dental Hygiene, Physical Therapy and many more.

How to Correct FAFSA
If you made a mistake in what you reported on the FAFSA form, you’ll need to make a correction. This includes changes to dependency status, incorrect income reported, and incorrect Social Security Numbers.
Families can make changes at fafsa.gov by logging in and selecting "Make FAFSA Corrections." Be sure to only update information that is incorrect.

Campus Visit Requirement
Seniors must fulfill their (4) college visit/fair requirement before successfully completing the Crosby Scholars program. If you have not completed this requirement, you can locate the college visit/fair form in the resources tab of your Crosby Scholars portal. Crosby Scholars will accept selfies on college campuses, school documentation via email, and written summaries of your campus visits in lieu of a completed form.

CFNC- Online Academy
Seniors who were unable to complete their two academy requirements will be offered an online academy option. The CFNC "Financial Basics for High School and Beyond" consists of a series of modules that explores key money management topics students can use right now. To take advantage of this academy option, students must follow the directions below and email ebrooks@crosbyscholarsrowan.org to notify us of the 6 completed modules.
