Kindness Week Food Drive
Mrs. Adams' third grade class is sponsoring a food drive for the Hampden Food Pantry all next week. Each grade will have their own blue recycling bin for collecting food. This is not a competition, just a great way to show kindness to our community.
Some examples of items to donate would be:
- Peanut butter 16-18 oz. jar
- Tuna
- Pasta - any type
- Baked beans
- Soup
- Applesauce
- Canned fruit - pears, peaches
- Canned vegetables - corn, green beans, carrots
Friendly Reminder: Please Do Not Send in Food for Valentine's Day
As a reminder, no food is allowed to be sent in for sharing. R.S.U. #22 does not accept unsolicited food items at school (i.e., Valentine's treats). This is to better manage our district’s wellness policy guidelines, food allergy safety and to prioritize non-food rewards and treats.
We sincerely appreciate your efforts to support our policies and to understand our rationale for implementing them.
We are great CATS!
Maine Student Writing Contest
The Maine County and State Teachers of the Year Association (MCSTOYA) and the Maine Council for English Language Arts (MCELA) launched their inaugural Student Writing Contest. This was in honor of educators and #LoveTeaching week. Two of our very own 5th grade Bobcats were recognized for their writing! Grace Hallett wrote about Ms. Libbey and Sidney Palmer wrote about Ms. Arsenault. Both won Honorable Mention (a $50 AMAZON gift card.)
Congratulations to our teachers and students!
