Yukon River is one of the longest navigable waterways. Alaska has wilderness of ice and snow. In 2009 it was 25 degrees below zero. In 1973 it hit 130 degrees below zero. Many major volcanoes. Glaciers and ice fields cover 5% of the state. There are no trees for miles in some parts of Alaska. In the spring it get to 31/3 degrees f, Summer it gets to 64/43 degrees f, Fall it is 21/1 degrees f, Winter get to -7/-28 degrees f.
