Professional LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES coming up in the Fall of 2022!

EUP Math Professional Learning Network and Foundations of Math

Foundations of Math is a professional learning series that will be held at the EUPISD as part of the EUP Math Professional Learning Network on the following dates in 2022-23. Join teachers from across the EUP in our Math PLN!



EUP Elementary Science Professional Learning Community

The EUP Elementary Science Professional Learning Community is designed as a PLC to help us continually learn and build capacity as individuals and as a region. We all learn from each other in a collaborative format that includes new teachers, experienced teachers, teacher facilitators and Cereal City Science curriculum specialists. Teachers will participate in grade level PLC workshops led by EUP Teacher Leaders and Professional Learning Consultants. This workshop will use the Cereal City Science K-5 Life Science Units as the context for learning and preparing to engage students in high quality science learning.



EUP Middle School Science Professional Learning Community

The EUP Middle School Science Professional Learning Community is designed as a PLC to help us continually learn and build capacity as individuals and as a region. We all learn from each other in a collaborative format that includes new teachers, experienced teachers, teacher leader facilitators and Cereal City Science curriculum specialists.


Teachers will participate in grade level PLC workshops led by EUP Teacher Leaders and Professional Learning Consultants. This workshop will use the Cereal City Science Middle School Science Units as the context for learning and preparing to engage students in high quality science learning.

This workshop will focus on science content using the newly published 6th Grade Earth Science unit from Cereal City Science and will consist of a two day workshop. Day one will be in-person at the EUPISD and day two will take place virtually.

We will be working with Cereal City Science to plan for the best professional learning opportunities for you and can support EUP teachers with participation in online learning in addition to our in-person events!


STEM Integrated Learning Team (ILT)


The EUP STEM Integrated Learning Team (ILT) is for anyone teaching any area of K-12 STEM including math, science, and computer science. STEM Integrated Learning Team (ILT) meetings will give teachers the opportunity to work collaboratively within an integrated STEM learning environment. This learning will include work in three strategic areas:


1. Professional Learning

2. Innovative programming and Collaboration

3. Developing business/industry/community connections


The first day of STEM ILT will take place at LSSU on October 28 from 9am - 3pm and we will working with LSSU faculty from the School of Science and Medicine where you will learn how to use the Bento Lab, which will make authentic DNA lab work in your classrooms accessible. We will also learn how to use microscopy to conduct research such as the identification of microplastics in the environment! Participating teachers will qualify to check this technology out of the REMC22 Lending Library.

STEM Teaching Tools

The STEM Teaching Tools are resources that have been developed through a project called ACESSE through the Council of State Science Supervisors. EUP teacher Billie Ennes was part of the team from Michigan, along with MiSTEM Executive Director Megan Schrauben who contributed to the development of STEM Teaching Tools! Thank you to Billie for representing Michigan and the EUP!

As the EUP MiSTEM Region director, Kevin works to serve STEM education and workforce development in Chippewa, Luce, and Mackinac Counties. The EUP STEM Region connects K-12 education, higher education, business/industry leaders, government agencies, and non-profits to engage in collaborative efforts regionally and statewide.
