Mayfield Messenger
Welcome Back Teachers Edition
Message from Dr. Frischkorn
I hope that you have spent your summer relaxing, rejuvenating and getting prepared for what will be an amazing school year. I would say that my summer was a summer of learning. I attended the Virginia Elementary School Principal Conference and attended the Schoology conference. I met a lot of great people and learned some pretty cool things that we can bring back to Mayfield and enhance the learning environment for students and staff.
This school year we are going to be sure to Share our Story of why Mayfield is a great place to learn and grow socially, emotionally and academically for our students, staff and community. Each and every staff member that we have a Mayfield possesses a strength that helps make our school a remarkable place. We are going to leverage all our strengths this year and continue to improve our school community.
In this special edition newsletter you will find our Professional Development Week Agenda, a list of our new staff members, and an introduction to our new assistant principal, Kelli Huntley.
I look forward to seeing you all in a couple weeks!
Donnie
Welcome Mrs. Huntley, Our New Assistant Principal
It is an honor to introduce myself as the new 6th Grade Assistant Principal at Mayfield Intermediate School. My name is Kelli Huntley and I am looking forward to carrying on the great tradition that Mayfield Intermediate has of being a wonderful learning environment for all students.
My 19 years in education include serving as a classroom teacher teaching all subjects for fourth and fifth grade, Course I and Course II mathematics for sixth and seventh grade, and mathematics specialist at both the elementary and secondary levels for Culpeper County Public Schools. Four years ago, I joined the Manassas City Public School team as the mathematics instructional coach at Haydon Elementary School.
My interactions with numerous educators have helped mold me into the leader that I am today. Great schools are a result of great teachers and I believe if you aren’t doing the things that scare you, you’re not really learning. I look forward to collaborating with the staff of Mayfield Intermediate to ensure that all students continue to grow emotionally, socially and academically. Mayfield Intermediate is truly a special place to be and I am so thankful to have the opportunity to serve our community!
