Cheers to new family connections! PTSA Green Back event had Rough Rider families meeting and greeting our magnificent teachers.

Environmental Systems Garden Tour - September 21

Do you need some encourage-mint? TR Environmental Science students branched out some gardening tips with NISD John Jay Mustangs. I’m so glad we “pricked” each other.

AVID Cluster Night - September 26

Roosevelt high school held its very first cluster night for AVID students. The objective of the gathering is to influence our middle school and high school AVID students to continue the AVID journey. The night showcased AVID tables created by the seniors with interactive games to play. The AVID Site Team also partnered with Ed White and Krueger to have their own game table.

JROTC Cadet Leadership Ceremony - September 27

At the first Battalion-level formation, 25 cadets were honored for participating in the 2022 NEISD JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge over the summer. Their hard work is what carries this Battalion forward.

Band Fall Marching Festival - September 27

Hats off to the Mighty TR Band! Thank you for representing Roosevelt HS in great fashion and for all you do to support our athletic programs throughout the year!

National Night Out - October 4th "Save the Date"

Get ready for a night of flashlights and laughs, as we start the 2022 Roosevelt Cluster National Night Out. This annual free community event brings together thousands of residents to enjoy free food, music, activities, games, performances, and exhibitors.


Community members from the North East San Antonio community are invited to gather and meet their neighbors, local non-profits, and community agencies to get to know each other and take a stand against crime and drugs.

TR Theatre Company "Clue" - October 6th , 7th, and 8th

“The Roosevelt Theatre Company presents the classic murder mystery, CLUE. Performances are on October 6 & 7 at 7 pm and October 8 at 2 and 7 pm in the TR auditorium.


Tickets are available via QR code on the poster or by visiting trhssa.booktix.com. Tickets are also available before each performance at the box office. Staff receives 1 comp ticket with District ID, and additional tickets will be charged at the Student and Adult rate.

Today high school, tomorrow the universe! Roosevelt will be hosting Senior Night on October 13th from 6 - 7 PM to discuss college options. We will have a round table of vendors who can discuss scholarships and FAFSA information. It's going to be a great night to gather college readiness information.

Hold up wait a minute, let me put some spirit in it! Come join the spirit teams, band, and other clubs in sending off our football players in high spirits. Meet the squad in the gym at 8:15 AM every Friday. Pep Rally entry is located at the bus circle.

We spotted eagles, falcons, and Royal Ridge Patriots in our football stands! Thank you to all the cluster littles who came to cheer on our Rough Rider Football team.

NEISD Clothes Closet - October Donations

Roosevelt PTSA needs your help in collecting underwear and gently used jeans for our NEISD community. Students of all ages visit the NEISD Clothes Closet seeking many clothing items. However, the need for underwear and jeans is growing rapidly.


Please drop off any donations of packaged underwear or gently used jeans in the boxes located near the front office or library.


Another option is using the PTA Amazon Wishlist for donations. Simply scan the QR code to the flyer below and select an item to purchase and donate to NEISD Clothes Closet.

Student and Staff Holiday - October 10th

All NEISD campuses will be closed to staff and students on Monday, October 10th.

Early Release Date - October 25th

Tuesday, October 25th Early Release is at 2:00 pm.


Future Early Release Tuesdays are November 29th, January 31st, February 28th, March 28th, and April 25th.

NEISD District Library Advisory Committee

Applications are being accepted for the Roosevelt High School Library Reconsideration Committee. This committee would meet in the event of a book in the school library being formally challenged.


Parents interested in volunteering on the NEISD District Library Advisory Committee may use the same form linked above and check the box at the bottom of the page. Applications for immediate consideration are due to the campus principal by October 30, 2022, but parents may submit applications throughout the year and be added to the applicant pool.

Building Family Connections

Roosevelt Family Specialist

Melissa Mendiola is Roosevelt's Family Specialist. Her email is mmendi2@neisd.net. Ms. Mendiola is available to assist with any needs or issues in a student's home life that can negatively affect a student's ability to excel at school. She is able to provide support and services for all students and their families, creating a true connection between home, school, and community. The family specialist's role is to bridge the gap of communication between parents, the school, and the community and provide resources to families who are experiencing barriers and guide all parents to fulfill their role as the child’s first teacher.

Texas State and UTSA Campus - September Tours

Building a positive connection between families and education is key to student success. We would like to say, "thank you" to all the families who scheduled a day off to tour two college campuses in September.


On Saturday, September 23rd Roosevelt families took a tour of Texas State University. It was a joy to explore the campus and gather bobcat information.


Then on Saturday, September 24th Roosevelt families met again, to attend the UTSA Parent Summit. Parents listened to a variety of speakers who informed the crowd about college opportunities.

NEISD School Nutrition Services

Rough Rider Cafe

Each student at Roosevelt High School will receive one free breakfast and one free lunch in the 2022-2023 school year. Any additional breakfasts or lunches will be charged to the student. Students without adequate funds will not be allowed to purchase extra items or meals.

Reminder- NO Outside Food Deliveries

Students are not allowed to have food deliveries to Roosevelt campus at any time (from Uber Eats, grub hub, restaurants, etc). Thank you for your understanding.

Rough Rider Academics

NEISD 2022 - 2023 Exam Exceptions

The district has updated the Exam Exemption Guidelines for 2022 - 2023 to include absences and tardies.

  • Absences and tardies for last week and this week (8/10/2022- 8/19/2022) will not go towards exemptions.

  • An extenuating absence due to a positive covid test will not count toward exemptions.

If your student will be absent, it's important to submit any documentation for absences to TR Attendance Office. The fax number is 210-650-1291. Documentation can also be emailed to the attendance clerk, Ms. Kimberly Hulsey, khulse@neisd.net.
